Yamaha - the Quality Goes In Before the Name Goes On!
There may be higher levels of headphones available from Yamaha and others...... but for my purposes, it's a great fit. I needed a couple of pairs of matching headphones for a recording project that I'm doing at home. I didn't want to do too much damage to my bank account. After some quick research, I decided to go with Yamaha. I know from previous experiences that, like other Japanese manufacturers, Yamaha puts the quality IN before the name goes ON! So far, I'm really happy with these headphones. I almost went for the Sony 7506 - because I've used them (and owned several pairs) in the past. However, there were simply too many user-complaints (feedback/reviews) focusing on the poor construction and lacking ability to stand-up to any type of physical abuse. So far, I really like them. Outstanding audio quality, good tight fit..... meaning they don't allow audio to bleed back out to the open mic. They feel well-built to me. Overall very happy. If you want to go higher-end, check out some of the higher priced models from Yamaha.

The cable is too long
Because the cable unplugs from the headphones, I thought I could swap for a shorter cable to use with my iphone while traveling. But the jack is 1/16th on the headphones. Just try to find a cable with that size jack on it. So I've ended up with a wad of cable with a rubber band around it to shorten the cable.
