Yamaha is proud to introduce the MX61 Music Production Synthesizer. This powerful synthesizer puts an entire studio of sounds at your fingertips. With over 1,000 voices from Yamaha's legendary MOTIF series and advanced integration with your computer or iOS device, the MX61 makes it easy to compose, record and perform your music.

FM Essential App Provides an Arsenal of Sounds

The free FM Essential app for iOS unlocks an additional synthesizer engine with effects, drum loops, and more. With the MX61's class-compliant USB connectivity, your iOS device plugs in and just works—no drivers needed. Cycle through the MX61's onboard sounds or tap into the FM Essential app for instant inspiration.

Iconic Yamaha Sound Engine

At the heart of the MX61 is the same sound engine that powers Yamaha's flagship MOTIF series. Layer up to eight elements in a single voice and manipulate them using functions like zone, switch, cycle and randomize. 128 notes of polyphony ensure your performances are full and expressive. VCM or "Virtual Circuit Modeling" technology authentically recreates the sound of vintage effects and signal processors.

Simple Yet Powerful Control

With 61 touch-sensitive keys, the MX61 balances portability and playability. Octave shift, transpose and tune controls provide flexibility for any playing style. The intuitive interface makes navigating sounds and settings a breeze. USB connectivity handles audio and MIDI with a single cable. A USB to Device port lets you save and load data to a flash drive. An aux input allows you to connect a smartphone, tablet or other audio source.

Record and Produce with Your DAW

The MX61 works as a controller for your favorite DAW software like Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and more. Transport, mixer, and software instrument controls are accessible right from the MX61's panel. Record MIDI and stereo audio over USB while monitoring with zero latency. The bundled Cubase AI software provides an easy start for music production on your computer.

Not quite the feel of a standard piano. It's a semi-weighted keyboard.
