collapse expand iconDescription

Soft, delicate, and subtle without being mushy. Unique, ultra warm, and dark sound, ideal for acoustic jazz and studio work. Though the "chick" sound is very dry and warm, it is full-bodied with plenty of presence. Developed in conjunction with the maestro, Elvin Jones.

The 14" K Constantinople Hi-Hats have received a makeover. Incorporating the same features as the 15'', 17'', and 19'' K Constantinople Crashes, the Hi-Hats now utilize hammering techniques, allowing the cymbal to open up with more dark overtones, distinction, and musicality than ever before. The pin lathe, added to the top and bottom of each cymbal, serves as an additional tonal groove, adding to the overall complexity of the sound produced. Additionally, the pin lathe enhances the visual appearance of these cymbals, adding a vintage look of the Ks of the past.

Very impressed with the hats. I would describe the sound as raw, but refined. K custom hybrids are cleaner sounding and more focused, and they were my go to before. After hearing these, I appreciate hats that are a little more raw. Excellent craftsmanship. I don't want to stop playing it. It also pairs well with the crash ride for a minimalist set up.

  • Completely Awesome!

A buddy of mine just picked these up and brought them over in the middle of a jam session. We switched out the Sabian hats I had on before for these and to hear the difference was like night and day. They're clean, crisp, and very expressive. Their ability to produce accurate dynamics and still retain attack and precision is astounding. Steve Gadd certainly put a little bit of groove in these bad boys. And for something truly amazing: try some hi-hat stomps on these cymbals. You will be reaching for your credit card. Get these cymbals!

  • Amazing! Really multi-purpose.

Well, at a first glance, this cymbals may look a bit pricey. And indeed they are! But they are really a well-worth purchase. Their sound is really dark, the overtones are rich and clean, without any audible dissonance. Also, they may look not as versatile as they are, but you can really play tightly or lightly - and the hats will sound really nice. Also, the chick control is unbelievable. Your foot sings with it. The only problem is because of the deep hammering - there isn't a perfect rebound. But without it, the tone wouldn't be so great. If you are looking for great hi hats with fantastic control and pure sound at a lower price, I would suggest both K light hats (fantastic!) or A new beat hats. Hope I could be helpful.
