Zildjian Drum Set Cymbals 101

Description
As a leader in cymbal making, Zildjian is always looking for new and innovative ways to bring a better musical experience to the drumming community. One area where drummers commonly express difficulty is lowering or dampening cymbal volume for practice and smaller gigs, or for the sake of close or sensitive neighbors. To really practice, it’s best to just play as you normally would, rather than ease up to cut volume. Zildjian has come up with an ideal solution—the Low Volume Family of cymbals.
Through tireless research and development, a specialized pattern was achieved to deliver the best of both worlds: musicality and lower volume. This innovative pattern is combined with a special proprietary alloy with a unique matte finish that enables the Low Volume cymbal to have fewer high frequencies and is up to 80% quieter than a traditional cymbal.

Features
- 10 in.
- Can be added to any L80 Low Volume setup

2. Indicate the location of the damage on the cymbal with a piece of tape.

Personally love the feel of this cymbal and that it is a splash cymbal. On my kit I have it right between two of my rack mounted toms, the standard splash cymbal location... Putting anything else in that location either gets in the way of my playing the toms mounted there or would be smacking into various parts of my rack. The L80 series is great but until I got my splash, I was hesitant to play with them. Not going to mount a regular splash with the rest of the L80's, but I wasn't going to not play with a splash....all about routine. Thankfully Zildjian solved my conundrum with this, so thank you very much.

Needed low volume cymbals to practice without angerting my neighbors. The low volume cymbals from zildjian are pefect. Great feel and enough sound to let you actually play, while also keeping the noise down.
For being a quiet cymbal, does it's job.

Make it a little shimmery. I use a small chain ring I made and it help the sound come out.
Do Not Buy This Cymbal

I bought this cymbal and kept it barely an hour. There isn't anything a real drummer can do with this cymbal. You can't use it for practice or live. It has a very dead sound, no ring to it, no identifiable sound I can compare it to except a trash can lid. Buy only the Buffed Bronze Cymbals. These are the bomb. I bought a whole set. They sound great acoustically or plugged in to the system.
Great Splash!

I have had this cymbal for a bit more than a week, and have played it quite a bit. It sounds great, and the volume matches the other L80 cymbals pretty well. I like it a lot, and I probably hit it more often than you usually would hit a splash, but it's fun, so I can't resist! I play lots of genres, metal, rock, blues, jazz, etc. I have the L80 14", 16", 18", set of cymbals, in addition to the splash, and they all sound awesome! The Remo Silentstrokes are great heads too, and using them together, I can play a lot of drums, and have a lot of fun, with great tone!
