Zildjian Drum Set Cymbals 101

Zildjian Low Volume With Drew Shoals

Description
The Zildjian LV468RH low-volume cymbal pack with Remo Silentstroke drum heads provides drummers and percussionists a virtually silent yet responsive set up for rehearsals, lessons and recording. Featuring Zildjian's innovative low-volume cymbals and Remo's Silentstroke drum heads, this complete pack allows drummers to play dynamically without disturbing others. The low-volume cymbals provide a natural feel and sound at a mere fraction of the volume of regular cymbals. Paired with Remo's mesh Silentstroke heads, which absorb up to 95% of drum vibrations, the LV468RH pack enables practice, composition and performance at any time without sacrificing feel or tone. The Zildjian LV468RH low-volume cymbal pack with Remo Silentstroke heads gives drummers freedom and flexibility never before possible.
Zildjian Low-Volume Cymbals: Unparalleled Responsiveness
At the heart of the LV468RH pack are Zildjian's innovative low-volume cymbals, which provide a natural playing feel and sound with 90% less volume than traditional cymbals. Made from a special alloy and hammering technique, the low-volume cymbals mimic the responsiveness of full-volume cymbals so drummers can achieve a range of sounds from soft to loud, while drastically reducing volume. The pack includes 14" hi-hats, 16" crash and 18" crash/ride cymbals, giving drummers a complete and expressive set up for any style.
Remo Silentstroke Heads: Maximum Absorption
Remo's Silentstroke drum heads are made of a tightly woven mesh that soaks up 95% of drum vibrations, reducing volume to a whisper while maintaining rebound and feel. Included are 10", 12", 14", 16" and 22" mesh heads. The 22" Silentstroke bass drum head in this pack provides maximum absorption and a natural kick drum sound. For recording, the Silentstroke heads capture a tight, focused sound perfect for tracking in home studios.
Complete, Compact Solution
Zildjian designed this low-volume cymbal pack to give drummers everything needed for a silent set up in one compact, affordable package. For maximum convenience, durability and value, the Zildjian LV468RH low-volume cymbal pack with Remo Silentstroke heads provides an all-in-one solution for any drummer's sound and space needs.

This package is great if you live in an apartment. Or with roommates. I wish I had this kot when I was 14 years old it would've saved me so much time, energy and money. Its a great way to practice for a few hours befor a gig or after school. Zildjan and remo best of the best for a reason.

I got this set, then bought the 20 in ride to go with them. The hats sound great, good chick to them and the crashes sound pretty decent. They look weird with all the holes, but they are great at what they're made to do...feel and sound like a regular cymbal, just quieter. Now on to the heads. They tune like mylar heads and are really quiet...too quiet. The cymbals overpower the toms. I used them on the 3 toms, but kept the bass and snare heads on. Since the mesh heads are too quiet, I put Aquarian stick-ons (4. in and 5 in. in a pack) in the center of the toms, and problem solved... just about the right volume from them.
Very quiet!!

I can't really fully comment yet on the experience, because I've only used them a few times. But as far as being quiet .... My wife normally leaves the room when I practice. The first time I used these, she actually fell asleep on the couch! She says it's the best money I ever spent on my drums!
Best invention ever.
