Amazing Sound!
Was tired of using my A series in small venues (not to mention the wear and tear). This cymbal pack gives a high end sound and feel. The mastersound hi hats have great sound open and closed. I was very impressed with the decay vs sustain of the crashes and ride. The tone is very well spread across the sizes. You may consider using the 16" crash closer to the ride for a better definition when crashing from the ride. This is overall a very hi-end sounding set. There are also many other cymbals that can be added to complete any drummers set up!

Listen to them before you buy
Had a chance to pick up a set on the cheap, and I was feeling really positive about them. Then, I listened to them. To me, they have a dark, gong-sounding undertone. It's very strange because the attack and crashes are crisp and bright. I thought they would be alright because the ZHT I have (which the S Family replaced) compliments my Sabian AA thin crash really well. Perhaps the right cymbal for the right purpose will work, but not a whole set of these for me.

Purchased for my daughter's e-kit because playing on plastic cymbals sucks. Planned on just getting her some basic hats and a decent ride to start. Played these in store and loved the sound, so we grabbed the bundle.
I like them.

Just used these at a rehearsal studio playing with a guitarist and bassist. Very impressed with how they sounded in the the settings. High-hat was crisp. The crashes fit in well as did the ride.

Waited a long long time to get these, just wasn't sure if it would be what I wanted. I am very picky about cymbals. The only regret I have is I didn't get them three years ago. They are definitely worth the price. I know a lot of low- mid priced cymbals are junk. These are not. If you want a good solid cymbal pack these ARE it.
They cut through the band and can be heard

I like that they can be heard through the guitar, bass and keyboards. In smaller environments where the drums are not mic'ed up, it sure helps.

I am a beginner/intermediate, 66 year old, female drummer, still learning and wanting to improve. I plan to keep playing as a serious hobby. Is this package something that would be a good brand and quality for me? I want to improve the quality of the cymbals I currently have but don't want to spend a fortune. These seem like they might be a good mid-range quality product. Can you advise? Thank you.
These are very good for your level. It would help to know what you're playing now.submitted6 years ago
