Easy, simple and works
I have been trying to get into music and learn more about everything. Both music production and live performances. I like to mess around with garageband sometimes and it comes with a small selection of sample synths(i think thats the term) but the whole musical typing thing gets old quick and isnt helpful for learning music let alone to play the piano. I also didn't want to invest too much in something because I am not sure how serious I am about it as a regular hobby so this adapter gives me the really affordable opportunity to try it out. Really simple too. Just make sure its the right connector and then plug into usb and whatever music/piano software you use just configure as a MIDI. Doesnt need any extra installs or drivers(like it says)

A quick fix but a interface would be a better investment
I wanted a 5 pin midi interface so I could play some sound samples from my mac to keyboard. This worked ok with some noticeable latency. I ended up getting a used Scarlett interface for $10 more and provided me with more options and better sound. Would be good in a pinch though.

I use this to transfer SysEx files from my Roland GP-16 to my PC for backup (using MIDI-OX app). Having no prior experience with MIDI, I assumed the Out cable was supposed to go in the Out socket and In was supposed to go to In. Nope! Once I sorted that out, everything worked as expected. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it did not come with instructions in/on the box, but they are available online.

I use this to hook up a casio keyboard for midi control in studio one 4.5. It is effortless and was literally plug and play with zero latency.

My DTX500 has no usb, only a midi out. Is it possible to connect just the midi out to an adapter with usb, so that I can connect to my iMac? I'm using a Scarlett 6i6 to connect the midi out from the module to the midi in on the Scarlett. Thanks, Maury

I still don't have sound after connecting this to my midi output on roland keyboard to computer. I've got pro tools installed in my computer. My computer says my devices is mio and not rolland. Is that ok? I've also got a scarlet 2i4 connected to my computer. What am I doing wrong?
