ADAM Audio T5V - Active Nearfield Monitor

ADAM Audio

collapse expand iconDescription

With the introduction of the T Series, musicians, engineers and producers working in music production studios, video post-production facilities and radio broadcast studios can now buy an affordable professional monitor that delivers performance approximating that of ADAM Audio's flagship S Series and iconic AX-Series monitors. Featuring a wide frequency response, excellent transient response, high dynamic range, small footprint and robust reliability, the T Series monitors have the same natural and smooth sonic signature as all of ADAM Audio's highly acclaimed monitors—but at a much lower price.

With the T5V, ADAM offers a 5" polypropylene woofer to work alongside its cabinet's rear-firing bass reflex port to provide an ultrasmooth, highly accurate midrange and extended bass response.

The T5V also uses the U-ART 1.9" accelerated ribbon tweeter. Made of a high-tech polymide film, used in thermal blankets on spacecrafts and satellites, the U-ART tweeter’s diaphragm provides pristine and extended high-frequency response up to 25kHz, a breakthrough solution for monitors in this price range.

      Seriously Good

I'm a full-time audio engineer working in a large church. I usually mix in our dedicated mix suite - but when I'm mixing from home, my pair of T5V's are my go-to monitors. I love that you can adjust them in predetermined increments to better suit your environment. My only complaint is that they err on the side of being ever-so-slightly shimmery and lacking a little between 500hz-2khz, but this is very nuanced and could very well just be my space. When I A/B'd them with the JBL 305s, 308s and the Yamaha HS5s, these seemed much more transparent and the EQ curve was comparatively more revealing of imperfects I knew existed in my test tracks. In my environment, the low end is phenomenal, especially for 5" drivers. While the high freq drivers aren't the same ribbons found in higher-end Adams, these sounds great for this price point. All in all, I love these little monitors. They have no business sounding as good as they do.

Crackles and cuts out not even a year after using

I was excited for these but one of the speakers already cut out, I tried everything from different interfaces, chords, etc. but it all comes back to the speaker itself cutting out, crackling and struggling to play sound. Worst part of all is Guitar Center's pro coverage has been absolutely useless. They refusing to send me a return label after a month of trying, even thought I paid for pro coverage on this.

Clearest monitors available for low and high end. Ribbon tweeters are amazing. Can't go wrong with a pair of these in your home studio.

Perfect for my small home studio I'm building. Very neutral sounding. Bass extension is quite impressive. Clarity of mids and highs is really remarkable. Using these for mixing my own recordings.

I really love the clarity in my new monitors. As someone who used KRK for years, the upgrade is well worth the money. I'm building this studio piece by piece, and the Adam monitors provide me with the best and most affordable solution available.

I bought these Speakers for my home broadcast and recording studio to replace some older M-AUDIO BX5 D2's. I am a broadcaster and pro DJ and need good clarity when mixing, editing, mastering tracks, and good audio definition for mixing live. Bass is very clean with good lows and not overpowering. No speaker "wobble" like some bass-enhanced brands that distort. Good lows without being overbearing, Proprietary ribbon tweeters are very efficient and cover upper mid-range and highs very cleanly. DSP switching is great to adjust speakers to room acoustics. Definitely recommend them.

My local store had every monitor on my radar to try (except for the Kali Audio ones), and in multiple sizes. I went in on a quiet day with one of my mixes & tried them all out. These T5Vs KILLED the other 8 or so sets that were competing with them, including the T7Vs, in dynamics & dimensionality. Not even close. Definitely worth the coin.
