Aquarian Hi-Velocity Black Snare Head 13 in.

Description
Safe-T-Loc hoop
This hoop system prevents slippage inside the hoop so that the snare head does not de-tune during a performance and will not pull out. Tuning is consistent and the replacement head stays in tune.
Sound Curve Collar Design
This design allows the Aquarian drumhead to seat perfectly on the bearing edge. No wrinkles even with loose tuning. It conforms instantly to any shell design and makes tuning fast, easy, and more accurate.
Triple Locking System
This unique system provides drummers with previously unheard of advantages in resonance and playability. First, holes are punched in the bottom of a "U" shaped channel, which has been formed in the drumhead. These holes allow the epoxy to flow into the "Safe-T-Loc" channel. Second, the "T-Ribs" that form the Safe-T-Loc channel prevent the epoxy and the drumhead, from slipping and pulling away from the hoop. Lastly, the Locking Shoulder acts as a "stop" to ensure the correct collar height for the snare drumhead.

I'm having a difficult time getting a good sound out of it without removing a lug screw entirely. The rough sandpaper coating seemed to chew up the stick tip before I beat it flat, causing it to scratch my other heads
Good - Once Dampened

For the price, and considering I had to use MoonGel to dampen the annoying ring, I had to give this 3 stars. Dampened, it sounds pretty good, but I don't normally have to go through the hassle. I'll stick with my Hi-Energy head from now on.
Awesome Snare Head by Aquarian

When I think of Aquarian, I don't usually think about snare heads...but I'm glad I came across this sweet-sounding head. You can get a lot of different sounds out of it, and the power dot on the back seems to be a little bigger than most other heads, which I like...but if you like more ring out of your snare it's got plenty to spare, so don't think it takes away from the full sound. Not to mention this thing will last you quite a while... Overall, this head sounds awesome, looks awesome, and is awesome. Get it, you won't be disappointed!
