Fantastic for the most part.

Bought this to replace the standard surround speakers that were paired with my Bose Soundbar 700. The sound and form factor are fantastic and both are improved over the previous generation. There is only one issue, hence 4 stars, the speakers are referenced backwards in the firmware. How this makes it past quality control is beyond me. Refer to attached photo. When facing your TV the rear speaker on your right hand side should be set to R and the other one to L. If you do this, however, and run Adaptiq or play a Dolby test video on your TV's YouTube channel the right rear audio will come out the left rear speaker. I've tested two sets of speakers and triple checked my set up. The positions are the same as my previous Bose surround and they didn't have this issue. Current work around is to fast the speaker on the right rear to L and the one on the left rear to R.

Great sound - impossible, ridiculous controls

Controlled by App - which routes EVERYTHING you do through BOSE - so Soundbar is found by app - but not Bass and not surround spkrs. I've been on phone with Bose a number of times. Always polite. They can give you a workaround by pressing multiple buttons on remote at same time. BUT INSTRUCTION BOOK IS WRONG! It shows workarounds for a different product! Yet no corrections, no errata sent to me. And what if I have the Bose where there is no internet? You're out of luck. Half the features you pay for are useless. I want superb sound. My TV and phone have the music connections. AND just make the remote simple: surround, Bass and Bar control without needing a Bose App. Make the Bose App a Plus - not a NEED. AND-Bar light sequences explain what's going on. We did that in the 1970's. LED's are cheap now. WHY NOT ONE LED for each function instead of deciding light flashes? Buy anything that puts money in sound and doesn't do internet connections as a necessary part Of operation! Texas Don

Either 5.1 is seldom used or these speakers are incorrectly calibrated. I had to use another reviewer's suggestion of placing 4 kitchen towels over the speakers while running ADAPTIQ to get them at a base level. Then, I had to adjust their volume up via the app.

Big fan of these. Several years ago I bought what was the Bose Soundbar 700 - this has since been replaced with the updated / renamed Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar, both of which work with these speakers - alongside the Bass Module 700. Just recently, I purchased these speakers as the final add-on to the setup to complete it, and I'm very happy. I love the wireless connectivity, simplicity of setup, they look great, and despite their small size they pump. Some content is very subtle, others are more obvious, it really depends on the mastering of the soundtrack. I also noticed that when playing music via Spotify casting, you do get audio out of these speakers. I can't really tell if Bose is doing some clever audio processing, or maybe some of these tracks come with some sort of surround sound mastering (I don't think so), or maybe they're just duplicating the full track audio to all connected speakers. Regardless, it's nice to hear music coming from all directions. I have these paired with the Bose stands, which are a perfect height for a standard couch. There are basically no options in the Bose app for these speakers - the settings seem to apply to the whole system as far as Bass, etc... - but you can control the overall volume in comparison to the rest of the system to make them more or less subtle. You'll want to experiment with the Bose "Adaptiq" calibration & this setting to get it to where you want. At the end of the day, these provide impactful, detailed surround sound in a sleek and beautiful package, as you'd expect from Bose. The price tag is, arguably, too high. But for the entire experience when getting the full Soundbar 700 / Ultra set, it's hard to complain about the cost because it's just so enjoyable. I've had the rest of the system for years and have no desire to swap or upgrade, despite having the "old" 700 Soundbar model and missing out on the Atmos up-firing speakers. These complete my setup, and I plan on keeping it rolling for many years to come.

Using the surround speaker at rear end and Sound output not up to the expectation. Do not expect much.

Beautiful, stylish, great sound but a bit pricy. The receiver box a bit too big. Connectivity for all Bose products is a bit more complicated than other brands such as Sonos, Bose need to make improvements in this area in general.
