Hillsboro Select = HH p'up beast

Just got my Hillsboro from GC used. Fit & finish are fantastic, just tuned it up and that was all the setup required, didn't mess with the truss rod, didn't have to adjust the saddles, nothing. Ebony fretboard looks and feels top notch all the way, fretwork was nicely done. Graphite nut = cut precisely and filed perfectly. Grover tuners are easy to adjust and hold tuning no problem. The bridge is something in-house from Dean and it is great! It's got a lot of mass, especially the saddles themselves- getting tons of string to saddle contact on par with Babicz. Electronics are intuitive, high quality feeling, and adjust proportionately throughout the entirety of the rotation. The knob under the neck pup is your master volume, the knob under the bridge pup is a pan (with a center detente) then from neck side to bridge side the eq section is High, Mid, Low (center detentes as well). TONS of tonal options, very usable tonal options too. Justin Chancellor type sounds, Flea's active bass sounds, Project 86, any kind of punk done on an EBMM, man Tony Levin tone (albeit played with about 1/100th of the skill haha), really versatile, full, balanced, and- like I said- USABLE tones all over the place and from an instrument that is well under 1K, unreal. Added bonus, the black open pore thing, fantastic looking and feeling in person- no smudging, no scuffs. This Dean Hillsboro Select is the real deal. If you're hunting for a W $$ or a 'Ray tone but would rather save yourself a grand, this is the bass for you!

How does this bass compare to others in its price range? My local store does not carry this product to try. Are there any basses that sound/ feel similar?
