Description
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Hummingbird Deluxe EC acoustic-electric guitar takes one of the most recognizable acoustics of all time and reimagines it with modern upgrades and deluxe details. Designed in collaboration with the Gibson Custom acoustic team in Bozeman, Montana, this premium cutaway version delivers vintage elegance, exceptional tonal depth and enhanced upper-fret access for lead players. With a solid rosewood back and sides, a thermally aged spruce top, LR Baggs electronics and a genuine ebony fretboard, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC is built for the stage and studio. It's topped off with a beautifully etched pickguard, multi-ply binding and a vintage-inspired headstock—all housed in Epiphone's new Protector Ultralite case for safe travels wherever your music takes you.
Solid Rosewood and Spruce for Deep, Expressive Tone
Unlike the traditional Hummingbird, which typically features a mahogany back and sides, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC uses solid rosewood for a richer, more complex sound. This tonewood adds roundness and clarity, with deep lows and shimmering highs that respond dynamically to both fingerstyle and strumming techniques. The thermally aged solid spruce top enhances resonance and projection, emulating the tonal maturity of a decades-old guitar. Traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce supports the top, reinforcing its structure while allowing it to vibrate freely. Whether unplugged or amplified, this Hummingbird delivers a bold, nuanced acoustic voice.
Cutaway Body and Comfortable Rounded C Neck
With its cutaway body style, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC gives players full access to the entire fretboard—perfect for expressive solos and melodic lead lines. The one-piece genuine mahogany neck features a rounded C-shaped profile that's comfortable in the hand and fast under the fingers. Attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint, the neck contributes to the guitar's impressive sustain and stability. Its ebony fretboard feels smooth and responsive, while the classic mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays add a vintage-correct aesthetic. The 24.75" scale length makes for an easy-playing feel that suits a wide range of musical styles.
LR Baggs Electronics Deliver Stage-Ready Performance
The Hummingbird Deluxe EC comes equipped with the LR Baggs Element Bronze VTC undersaddle pickup and preamp system. This setup delivers clear, natural-sounding amplification with excellent dynamic response. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls let you quickly shape your sound without interrupting your performance. Whether you're recording in the studio or performing live, the Elemnt Bronze VTC system ensures your tone translates with warmth and precision. Please note that a 9V battery is required for operation and is not included.
Inspired by Gibson Custom Appointments and Included Ultralite Case
Visually, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC is loaded with elegant features. The acrylic-celluloid pickguard bears the iconic Hummingbird graphic, etched in gold. Gold-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Gibson-designed ebony reverse-belly bridge complete the premium aesthetic. Multi-ply top and back binding, plus single-ply binding on the fretboard and headstock, elevate the look even further. For protection on the road, this guitar comes with Epiphone's new Protector Ultralite case. Inspired by vintage Red Line cases, this hybrid design combines the rugged durability of a hardshell with the lightweight convenience of a gig bag—complete with plush lining, accessory compartments and comfortable shoulder straps for easy transport.
