Amazing investment!

I must say this head has to be one of the best things ive ever bought for my set. The snare is the center of your drumset so you want to get the best for it. This drum really helps to take out those nasty overtones and the annoying ringing. It has a wide tuning range of a tight jazz pop to that low punk/heavy metal slam. It is extremely durable (i tend to get mad and just whack stuff) it has yet to dent or even scratch a little. It is very sensitive and provides great sound at all volumes. I highly recommened this drumhead, especially with the Evans Hazy 300, which is a great resonant head!
not the best

I tried the Evans Power Center Head a few months ago and was not totally impressed with it. I struggled to find the combination of crack and ring I was looking for, and I felt that the tuning range was very limited. The durability was very strong though. I have recently switched to a different model of Evans and am much happier. Evans are the best, I am just not particularly fond of this model. I don?t plan on buying it again.

I got this head to replace an old stock head on my drum kit. After I tuned it to my liking, I got a very nice focused crack with some ring. Its just the sound I wanted! The center dot increases durability without losing projection. Also, the dot makes the center not too bouncy. It's a cheap and awesome snare head. Go buy yours today!
Power Center heads take a bashing!

I admit I have used a competitor's snare head for decades, until I was fortunate to stumble on Evan's exceptional Power Center snare drum head. I've never looked back. I started with a new alt/rock/punk band from New Orleans, and was asked to play harder than any band I've played with in 27 years. My main comment on the head is the lack of pitting that robs the head of it's sound. I experience almost none with the Power Center head. After a few shows, to remove sagging, I simply take a hot iron to it for a minute or so, and it freshens right up! The head's most endearing attribute is the fact that it brings out the most beautiful sound possible from my birch snare, no matter what style of music I'm playing, from brush work to relentless 2B bashing. I'm hooked!
