EVANS

collapse expand iconDescription

It's the same design as EVANS' standard Power Center head (See SKU#443802), but with the center-reinforcement dot moved to the underside of the head.

Designed to add durability in the spot where the stick strikes it the most, the Power Center also adds focus to your sound. The coated, perforated, center-reinforced head still allows overtones to ring freely when struck on the edges. The head has an open, bright sound and creates a fat backbeat.

Originally thought it was too thick for the sound I wanted. Put on and let sit overnight; re-tuned next day and it sounded sorta flat no matter how I tuned it (tried everything). Sat for another couple days. When I went to play it again, head was super loose, like hand tight loose. So I re-tightened it, and now it sounds great. Great sound and pop, sounds perfect tuned mid to high range (I'm using bronze 14x6.5 snare). Just a long "breaking-in" period I suppose. I've never seen that happen before. So my advice is let it sit tightened up for a couple days if you're having trouble getting a good sound.

I had been considering buying a new snare for a few months. I puchased the Power Center Reverse Dot to replaced a damaged head just for the mean time. During the sound check for my next gig I was blown away by the way my snare sounded. I tweaked it alittle and have decided I don't need a new snare after all. Love IT!!!!!!!!!

I got this head a few days ago (along with a 300 hazy for the bottom) and this thing rocks. I put it on my maple ddrum snare and it sounds totally different. Its strong, and has a fast decay when u tighten it. I will use this head for my future snares as well.
