Description
The Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass is the latest evolution of the most influential electric bass ever created. This sleek, versatile instrument takes the iconic J Bass design to new heights with a meticulously sculpted neck heel, rolled fingerboard edges and two brand-new V-Mod II single-coil pickups that deliver vintage-inspired tone with enhanced clarity and articulation.
New V-Mod II Pickups Provide Iconic Tone Reimagined
The American Professional II Jazz Bass is equipped with a pair of newly designed V-Mod II Jazz Bass pickups that build upon Fender's legacy of pickup innovation. These pickups capture coveted vintage-style tone while improving note definition and dynamics. The neck pickup provides a warm, round tone perfect for complex walking basslines and soloing. The bridge pickup cuts through the mix with a bright, articulate growl suited to aggressive slap playing and punk-infused styles.
Sculpted Neck Heel Opens Up The Higher Register
This Jazz Bass features a sculpted neck heel that provides unencumbered access to the upper frets. The contoured heel shape increases playing comfort while enabling effortless transitions into the instrument's highest range. Combined with the slim C-shaped neck profile, 20 narrow-tall frets, and 9.5" fingerboard radius, this ergonomic design dramatically improves playability across the fretboard.

Back in 2006 I bought a Fender Deluxe Jazz MIM bass. This was a great bass, however I regrettably pawned it. Years down the line I bought a MIM Fender P Bass, which was great, however I was not fully satisfied. I decided to finally get my dream bass, and that is exactly what the American Professional II Jazz is! It came in within 2 days in its case, and I fell in love the second I opened it and saw the Dark Night color and beautiful maple fret board! This bass is a dream to play, and will be the go to bass I plan to play for years to come. I cannot get over the comfort of the neck, the quality of the tuners, and most importantly the classic Fender tone that has inspired musicians from Jaco Pastorius to Geddy Lee, and so fourth. Every Bass Player needs this bass!

I have been playing bass for a bit over a year now, and wanted to upgrade my starter instrument (a Hofner Ignition). I chose a Fender jazz bass for its versatility and comfort. The American Professional II jazz bass sounds great! It has a great tone for slap bass with both pickups and volume turned all the way up. The neck pickup soloed can do a respectable P bass imitation. I found the feel of the neck to be supremely smooth and comfortable. The mystic surf green finish is very impressive, though not for everyone, I'm sure. The appearance of the bass really changes based on lighting. It really looks stunning paired with the maple fretboard. I bought this bass hoping that it would be the one and only other bass (besides my Hofner) I would need or want going forward on my musical journey. So far (four months) I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

The finish blue me away (see what I did there...) When I first saw it in person and I just had to try it. Played it against several other high end basses, kept smiling ear to ear when I picked this one back up. Well rounded sound, big bottom end, articulate top without being too "tin-like". Setup was perfect and the finish is a tad lighter than the photos reveal. Fantastic bass, cannot wait for the fretless version!

Dead E string, buzz on the A string, gouge in the body near the base of the neck, some kind of glue or paste all over the pickups, ridiculous cheap looking high gloss on the fingerboard, just a big disappointment.

I have a question concerning regarding the Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass Maple Fingerboard Dark Night Item #: 1500000327827 I want to know how many you have in stock inventory at the Cool Springs area buy the Mall in Brentwood area. I plan to come to your Center to pick one up no later than Friday. Would like to have one in a box with the case. If you do not have this then does the other Center getting closer to Nashville have it?
This bass should be available at one or both of these stores but you may want to contact the store directly to confirm availability. I would recommend calling or emailing the store first.
