First, thank you to my awesome Wife who got this for an Anniversary gift, a month after getting me a squire vintage vibes 70's P-Bass. To begin, I threw on some Mark Bass round wounds - factory strings were not bad, just wanted to upgrade a little. I am playing this bass through a little Acoustic brand 50 watt bass, with no pedals, straight cord from bass to amp. Let's start with the neck. When they say fast, they mean it! Honestly the neck is so smooth, it makes me nervous when I pick it up each time that it is just going to slide through my hands! Freaking amazing. The noiseless pickups sound beautiful. Even in passive they gather the sound with perfection. When set to active, holy cow they are gorgeous. The mid range selector lets me get great tone. My only complaint on active, is that button up is active, instead of button down. Fender said they did this since most people play it in active mode, but I almost always forget to turn it off. From the first fret to the last, the tone is clear, and the sound is great. I did very minimal adjustments from factory, The tuning was set at the 12th fret right off the wall. I am not a pro player, and (sadly) this one may never see a stage. But the joy it brings, just at home. I kid you not there are a couple songs I played that the sound made me tear up! Go play one, but only if you have money to buy it. If you don't you are going into debt as soon as you hear it! Also, if you are a Veteran, and you haven't used their Veteran discount yet, be sure to do that. It saved 10% off the price, even on this beauty! Comes with a Fender hard case, which is nice bonus. Has certificate of authenticity included as well.
