  • Both an amazing bass and a bad sign for USA Fender

I've made a recent pledge to buy only USA instruments to support our home economy. This bass looks and plays like a high end instrument. It can sound just about any way you want it with excellent pickups and EQ. It's the little things that started to pop up. First I noticed a pickup cover looked warped. The cover is too thin and takes the shape of the round bobbin inside. Oh well. Next, the A tuner creaked really badly under tension. I had to disassemble it, clean, dry lube, and reassemble it. The worst so far is when I swapped strings the ferrules started falling out of the body. They knew this at the factory and ignored it. You are supposed to be able to top route the strings as well, meaning nothing would hold the ferrules in. I haven't had the bass for a full week yet. I contacted Fender and the closest service center to Charlotte, NC is 80 miles away. Seriously. With Indonesia, Korea, Japan, even China putting out so many excellent instruments, why is Fender USA (and Gibson) taking us for granted. I'm a part-time luthier and I fixed all of the problems myself, but at this price ferrules falling out is a sad statement for a once excellent brand.

  • The best Fender PBass I've played yet

This bass is very playable and spectacular to look out. It has the full range of versatile tones, great balance, and lots of power. I have a few basses, but this one will most likely be my go-to bass for gigs. Both the active and passive tones are excellent. It even inspires me to practice more.

  • This Bass has just about everything I could possibly want.

Lighter weight than some other Basses so it's less tiring to practice. It came with strap locks. It looks good and feels good. It sounds even better with a set of Fender Flat-wound strings. I ordered an extra pick-guard to customize the bass into a more patriotic style. Everything works flawlessly.
