my American Pro came factory installed with the '69's which I swapped out with Dimarzio's for a heavier sound. Since then I've picked up a couple other guitars to cover the metal stuff and wanted my strat to sound like a strat again but misplaced the original pickups. the pre-wired pickguard was an easy choice since I'm no expert with a soldering iron. I had everything swapped out, including the string change and tuning, in about 20 minutes; couldn't have been easier. The pickups are brighter than I remember and, for the first time in a long time, I'm using the tone knobs to ease back the high end brittleness. Even so, it's great to get the single coil sound back and I couldn't be happier.

I installed this pickgaurd in a squire affinity, I only had to drill one pickgaurd hole but the rest lined up nicely. I had to use a drimmel tool to do a slight body modification under the five way switch (minor five minute fix) . Well worth it and I do highly recommend it.
Excellent upgrade

Dropped this loaded pickguard into my Mexican Strat. Quality of the wiring is solid. I LOVE the neck and middle pickups. The neck has that deep, percussive quality that I want from that position. The middle pickup seems noticeably hotter than the other two. It is not reverse wound, so don't expect any hum canceling in any position. I am less impressed with the bridge pickup. It feels under wound(or at least under powered) compared to the other two. It's a bit thin and has none of the snarling qualities I want from that position. Still, overall, it's a great upgrade.
