I installed this in a mid 90's Takamine F385 12 String acoustic and it completely reinvigorated my love for this old guitar! I was actually going to sell the guitar to fund the purchase of an acoustic/electric 12 string, but couldn't justify the cost difference for trying to maintain the quality. That's when I looked for acoustic pickup kits and found this Fishman setup. I decided to go the more expensive route and opt for the mic blend version, because I was a little worried about the under saddle piezo being able to articulate the octave strings without a disparity of volume with the lower strings. That wasn't at all the case, but I am still glad I went with the mic blend, as the mic brings back the natural tone of the guitar that sounds amazing on its own, and still amazing but more "acoustic-Electric" sounding when the under saddle pickup is firmly in the mix. I haven't had a chance to gig with this outside of my home studio yet to get a feel of how it may handle rooms with excessive bass and possible feedback, but with the bass cut switch and ability to dial back the mic in lieu of the piezo I am not worried about having to eq the guitar into a muffled hollow mess in a loud live setting. I did have a bit of an issue with the install. I had to use 3M double sided tape to hold the Mic Blend Knob on since the supplied adhesive tape failed to do the job, I did use CA glue to "slick" the mounting area and probably should have used a dab of standard wood glue for that purpose. The other controls are holding firm after several weeks with the factory adhesive. The more pressing issue I had with the install was after getting it put together and restrung, I had no output from the under-saddle pickup. I took it all apart and trouble shooting led me to find that the hole I drill into the body cavity from the saddle slot was causing the wire from the piezo to short or lose contact once the bridge had string pressure over that area. I used an index drill bit of the size called for in the installation instructions, but had to redrill the hole a few thousandths of an inch larger to fix the issue. After that one change, I have had trouble free operation. It sounded so good I didn't even want to subtract a star since many people will likely have a guitar tech or local luthier perform the installation for them.
