Hands down fantastic.
I was given one of these this past Christmas (2007). I had been wanting one of these for a while as my room is too cramped for floor stands, but I have plenty of wall space. So I was asking for one, and I got one. Boy do these things work wonders. As long as you have a drill and the proper bits, you can install one of these things with no problem. And they come with dry-wall anchors too, so you don't need to find a stud or install it on a solid wall. Not only are they easy to install, but they are solid too. They have the patented Hercules locking pegs that keep your guitar in place. Plus the head swivels, so even if you have a guitar with a very narrow and flat on one side HS like an ESP EX/V, they will still cradle it with ease. They can hold a lot too. Even if you have a big heavy Les Paul or something, they won't come out of the wall. Another thing too is that they hold the guitar about 4 inches away from the wall, so you don't need to worry about them scratching the paint or ripping posters. All in all just a great buy. If you're looking to mount a guitar to the wall, buy one of these. I'm sure gonna be getting 2 more for my other guitars.

NOT meant for drywall, despite the false advertising
I installed this product exactly per the instructions and it ripped a hole in my wall 1 month later. The provided screws ripped through the anchor screws so this product is clearly flimsy and cheap and not suitable for drywall installation. Pass on this product and look elsewhere, disappointed that Guitar Center would even sell this kind of product.

I used this product to hang my vintage les Paul on the wall getting it off the stand on the floor and up on the wall seemed like a fun easy project I used the provided drywall anchors that came with the unit and followed the instructions to hang it up it seemed secure after screwing the provided screws through the provided metal plate and into the provided drywall anchors however after hanging my vintage les Paul and getting it leveled ten minutes elapsed and then the drywall anchors pulled out of the wall and my vintage les Paul came crashing down to the ground completely ruined the guitar the neck separated from the body the finish on the body is spider-web cracked literally 20,000$ dollars worth of guitar is now worth nothing if I could go back I would never purchase this product and I would still have my beloved irreplaceable guitar BUYER BEWARE!!!

This fails on so many levels: 1) This has a hard (fake?) wood piece and a hard plastic spacing piece. The spacer has an oval peg that's supposed to fit into the oval hole in the wood. IT DOES NOT. The hole is .5625 wide and the spacer's peg is .5865" wide - it does NOT go into the hole. Solution: I took a small rat tailed (round) file and within 1 minute was able to file away enough wood on top and bottom of the oval for the spacer to fit otherwise it's not happening. 2) Second dimension fail is that if you try putting it together before mounting, you'll notice that the wood piece extends past the steel mounting plate. That means if you screw the mounting plate to the wall and then try screwing the spacer threading into the mounting plate it won't make it. The plate is now too deep and the wood sticks out too far to catch the thread. (it adds another .1450") Making touching the threaded hole impossible. They include a piece of foam but it's only .095" thick which isn't enough to compensate for the gap. What you really need is a spongy spacer about 1/4" thick to go between the wall and plate. Solution: Get a piece of spongy foam (like acoustic studio foam only beefier), cut it into the same shape of the one they give you. Then assemble the whole thing with the foam touching the plate, face down on a table and compress it with your hand. If the wood barely makes it to the table then you're ready to mount it. Mount the plate with the foam under it to the wall and then measure that the face of the plate is about 1/4" from the wall, then it will make it. You can also use washers (about 1/4" thick) but that will leave a mark on your wall. 3) Screwing it into drywall WILL NOT WORK! I have a towel rack that has the same hardware and it easily pulls the wall out! My 9 pound bass would rip it out in seconds. ONLY screw it into a stud in the wall. Find a friend who has a stud finder and borrow it. OTHERWISE.. I really like it, I bought 4. I'm a musician PLUS an engineer

The mount has no threading whatsoever making the product absolutely useless right out of the packaging. The goal is to screw the hook into the steel mount on the wall to secure it. I'll probably be modifying it so I can actually use it like intended but what's the point of a product if it requires extra work and fuss just to get it to work…
It's just okay.

It's a guitar wall mount so there isn't much to it. The wood cap has a slot that is supposed to be predrilled but the hole wasn't cut out enough. I had to file down so a support piece could fit accordingly.. the negative is if someone were to open the hole a little too much it would compromise the support of the mount. I like that it came with the hardware and drywall anchors.
Fell out, dropped my bass

I bought two of these on a Daily Pick deal. A month after I installed them, one pulled out of the drywall, dropping my bass (which got chipped). The other looks like it would do the same if I kept using it, but I'm not going to. I'm taking it down right away. Awful design. Besides that, it didn't swivel easily to accommodate my different headstocks.

Are these hangers nitro safe? Do not want to ruin finish since the guitars will be displayed indefinitely
