The Gibson Music City 50th Anniversary Les Paul delivers a unique tonal experience thanks to its 70s Tribute humbuckers, which offer a punchy, articulate sound with rich mids and smooth lows. The bridge pickup cuts through with tight clarity, while the neck pickup provides warm, expressive tones perfect for rhythm and lead alike. It's a darker, more aggressive voice than a traditional Les Paul, making it ideal for players who want vintage character with modern edge. Comfort-wise, this guitar is a standout. Its lightweight poplar body, SlimTaper maple neck, and contoured top and back make it one of the most ergonomic Les Pauls Gibson has produced. The striped ebony fretboard, medium jumbo frets, and 12" radius offer smooth playability, while Grover tuners and a Tune-O-Matic bridge ensure solid tuning and intonation. Whether you're gigging, recording, or just jamming hours on end it's built to feel great in your hands and sound even better.

I collect and play Gibson guitars so when Gibson introduced the Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary guitar I was in. I have been looking for a Marauder for some time but most are not in great condition. This guitar has some important upgrades over the originals including an ebony fretboard, side mounted output jack, and a set neck. The bodies are thin compared to a regular Les Pauls with some contours on the top and back. These coupled with the light weight makes this guitar very comfortable for extended playing. The pickups are hot so they sound good with high gain amps but lowering the pickups really tames them down for other styles of music. I like the Flying V headstock, true to the original Marauders. Controls are limited to a master volume and master tone. This is a simple straight forward guitar. Fit and finish on mine is perfect and the wine red finish is gorgeous. A lot of reviews think that this guitar is overpriced but considering how comfortable it is to play and the fact it's a limited edition, I think the price is reasonable. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy this guitar.
