collapse expand iconDescription

Gretsch Brooklyn series metal snare drums add another professional and distinctive voice to the Gretsch snare line up. The chrome-over-steel shell is offered in various sizes and delivers a versatile tone with a pleasing overtone. All shells include Gretsch "302" 3mm/double-flanged hoops, Lightning throw off and butt plate, "Snap-in" drum key holder, 20-strand snare wire and Gretsch Permatone drum heads. The "302" hoops provide a timbre that is more open and ambient than traditional Gretsch die-cast hoops.

Tune-Bot settings: 385 reso 320 batter. Perfect medium tuning with a lot of crack! Ghost notes really stand out. This snare is heavy!! Before you spend the extra on a COB or a Supraphonic check this one out. I don't think you will be disappointed.

The headline says it all. It's durable. Stands the constant beating of touring or casual gigs. The tuning range in this thing is amazing. Tuned low, fat and powerful. Crank it up and you'll have a pistol. And the rimshot...oh my god the rimshot! In smaller venues you can take the mic off and this thing will always be heard. Emperor X for live, Coated PS3 for studio. The killer formula. Definetly one of the loudest and meanest snares Gretsch has ever made. I have the 14'' x 6.5 and I'm not thinking in changing it in a near future. If you like hitting like a mad ape and need that loud response, this is the snare for you. BUY IT! Seriously, if I work in GC I would totally sell you this. BUY THIS THING!!!
