Gretsch Guitars G5420T Electromatic Classic Hollowbody Single-Cut Electric Guitar Orange Stain

Description
Treat yourself and audiences to decades of delectable Gretsch tone with this incredibly affordable yet professional-grade hollowbody. Loaded with vintage-voiced FT-5E Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, an Adjusto-matic bridge, and a Bigsby B60 vibrato, the G5420T Electromatic conjures the subtle pitch modulation and articulate chime Gretsch is known for. A 3-way pickup switch and four controls — including a master volume with treble-bleed circuitry — ensure you'll have no problem summoning the legendary sounds this hollowbody was built to produce. The G5420T Electromatic melds vintage style with modern playability.
FT-5E Filter'Tron Pickups Deliver Legendary Gretsch Tone
The G5420T Electromatic is equipped with a pair of FT-5E Filter'Tron humbucking pickups that provide the punchy, full-bodied tone Gretsch is renowned for. These vintage-voiced pickups are wound to vintage specs to authentically capture the chime and articulate snap of classic Gretsch hollowbodies from the 1950s and '60s. With a 3-way pickup switch, you can select either pickup individually or blend them together for complex tones with enhanced lows, clear mids and chiming highs.
Bigsby B60 Vibrato Tailpiece Adds Signature Gretsch Shimmer
No Gretsch hollowbody would be complete without a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. The G5420T Electromatic features a Bigsby B60 vibrato that provides the subtle pitch modulation Gretsch guitars are known for. Adding a shimmering quality to your tone, the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece lets you bend notes up and down to create signature Gretsch sounds. Coupled with the Adjusto-matic bridge, the Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece helps this hollowbody sing with articulate chime and punch.
Maple Neck and Laurel Fingerboard Balance Playability and Tone
The G5420T Electromatic hollowbody features a maple neck with a comfortable C profile and 12" radius laurel fingerboard. The maple neck provides rigidity and focus to the tone of the hollow mahogany body. The laurel fingerboard, which is slightly softer than rosewood, helps balance playability and tone. Together, the maple neck and laurel fingerboard make this hollowbody a joy to play while complementing its articulate, vintage-inspired tone.
Classic Gretsch Style with Modern Refinements
With elegant arches, bound F-holes and gold hardware, the G5420T Electromatic exudes Gretsch style. The smaller late-1950s-inspired bound headstock, pearloid thumbnail inlays, secured Adjusto-Matic bridge and open-back tuning machines offer a nod to Gretsch's storied past. However, modern refinements like a treble-bleed circuit, GraphTech NuBone nut and simplified electronics ensure this hollowbody plays and sounds its best while being incredibly affordable.

Over the past several decades I've owned and played many guitars, adding quite a few to my collection. But I always favored my Gibsons, Epiphones and Fenders. Always admired the look and sound of a Gretsch, just never bought one. Well, with the NFL season ending and looking for something to address my withdrawal symptom's ;-D, I finally broke down and bought one, a gorgeous orange stain G5420T. I have to simply say how impressed I am with it! The workmanship is amazingly good for a moderately priced guitar, and it was well packaged and in excellent setup right out of the box. I have to say that the Gretsch QA seems to be quite good for a non-handmade guitar. Action was set up right and everything seems to be well set up overall. Had not expected it to be as good as it was! The sound quality is also very impressive and a true Gretsch sound, which is something I've always wanted to add to my tool chest. Good variety of sounds and works well with numerous amp setups (modeled) and effects. And, well, the looks are simply gorgeous! What a stunning looking guitar! I get almost as much pleasure simply staring at it as I do playing it! While I realize the G5420T is not the ultimate Gretsch, as a retired pro I have to say that I am very pleased with it so far. Great new addition to my "museum" of guitars.
Absolutely worth it

I bought this guitar because I've always wanted a gretsch and that bigsby is beautiful. Man she plays like a dream. Everything about her just feels right. There's some finish cracks around the neck but from my understanding that seems to be normal on this guitar. I sprung for the fitted case and and everything is perfect. I've been playing this guitar for about a month straight and I can't get over how much I love it. Really feel like I've been missing out on gretsch guitars.
Great Guitar.

I purchased this as an option to my Strat and Tele thinking I would get a mellower sound. Wrong. This thing absolutely rocks. I love the build quality and looks like this will now be my primary axe. #sweepstakes
