The Gretsch G5422TG Electromatic Classic Hollowbody Double-Cut With Bigsby and Gold Hardware Electric Guitar. This revolutionary instrument provides players a vintage-inspired tone and style at an affordable price. The G5422TG Electromatic hollowbody features a laminated maple body and all-new trestle block bracing to produce a fast attack, enhanced snap, and improved sustain. Powered by Gretsch FT-5E Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, the G5422TG unleashes the full-bodied punch and chime that Gretsch is known for. An Adjusto-matic bridge and Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece enable sensational pitch control for a range of sonic textures.

FT-5E Filter'Tron Pickups Deliver Legendary Gretsch Twang

The G5422TG Electromatic hollowbody is equipped with Gretsch FT-5E Filter'Tron humbucking pickups that provide the punchy midrange cut and clear highs Gretsch guitars are famous for. These pickups capture the era-specific tones of the 1950s and 1960s that produced rockabilly, surf rock, and other iconic sounds. Dial in a range of tones from full and round to sharp and cutting using the master volume and tone controls.

Bigsby B60 Vibrato Tailpiece Enables Expressive Pitch Control

A Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece gives players the ability to manipulate pitch for a range of sonic effects. The B60 can produce subtle shimmers or deep dives, allowing guitarists to emulate classic rockabilly and surf tones. Combined with the Filter'Tron pickups, the Bigsby vibrato helps the G5422TG hollowbody capture coveted vintage Gretsch sounds.

Trestle Block Bracing Improves Sustain and Reduces Feedback

The G5422TG Electromatic hollowbody features trestle block bracing, which increases contact between the laminated maple top and back. This construction improves note definition, enhances sustain, and helps prevent unwanted feedback. Trestle block bracing gives the G5422TG a robust and resonant voice that projects clearly.

Refined Style and Premium Appointments

With gold hardware, and bound f-holes, the G5422TG Electromatic hollowbody exudes vintage style. A 12" radius laurel fretboard offers comfortable playability, while open-back tuners provide smooth and accurate tuning. GraphTech NuBone nut and an Adjusto-Matic bridge complete the premium appointments.

I mainly bought this due to it being similar as JOHN frusciante's Gretch White falcon. I'm a beginner and have no need for that high end of a guitar, so I went with this one. Love the white with gold accents. Can play unplugged or plugged. It's a bit big, so if you have a small frame, may want to look at the smaller sized.

I bought this guitar after doing months of research (and foot-dragging). I wanted a true hollow body, double cut-away with a vintage sound. The g5422tg checked those boxes and more. The craftsmanship on this guitar is amazing, and not just for the price range. It's a very well built guitar from the fretwork to the binding and so many other points. The C profile neck is comfortable and the FT-5E pickups cover a wide range of tones - most importantly (for me) that great Gretsch bridge tone. I have a couple guitars with the Blacktop filtertrons and they're okay, but these new FT-5Es are a big improvement. Incredible guitar at a good price.

7 lbs. is pretty light. You should visit a store. We have no way to weigh individual instruments.
