Groove Tubes

collapse expand iconDescription

The Groove Tubes Gold Series GT-6L6-S are medium-output power tubes (generally 20–25 watts). Available in many variations, its response is round with a pronounced midrange character; strident and chesty with a super-bright and clean, powerful punch. Perhaps the most recognized signature tone for U.S. guitar music of all styles from the '60s onward. These power tubes offer great dynamics and a very sweet, punchy tone with enhanced power rating and performance. With a more brilliant top end and a very full, pronounced and round low-frequency output, Gold Series matched power tubes are solid replacements for stock performance.

Tubes sounds great. Very warm and responsive in my Fender Super amplifier. Plenty of clean headroom and a small amount of crunch that opened up as they were over driven.

  • Great for twin reverb

I have these in my twin reverb RI and am in love with these tubes. If you want that cranked twin overdrive tone at lower volumes you will LOVE these tubes! A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. If your looking for crystal clear cleans these aren't for you. A strat and these 6L6S tubes are heaven to me. PERIOD!!

These are GT's rebranded JJ power tubes. I use JJs in my Fender DeVille and love the clarity and musicalness of the tubes. These are top-notch tubes. That said, GT has really marked up the tubes just to carry the GT label. I'd look for regular JJ brand, which should cost around $30 a matched pair.
