Guild Polara Deluxe Solidbody Electric Guitar Canyon Dusk

Description
The Guild Polara Deluxe solidbody electric guitar packs exceptional tonal versatility into a comfortable, great-looking package. Crafted by Guild with their meticulous build quality, the Polara Deluxe starts with a mahogany body and neck for balanced tone and sustain. It gets versatile humbucking pickups with coil-splitting to shape your sound, while the bound rosewood fingerboard provides an elegant look. With its slick vintage design and modern playability, the Polara Deluxe is ideal for guitarists who want classic Guild style with contemporary functionality.
Sustain for Days With a Mahogany Body and Neck
The Polara Deluxe has a body and neck made from quality mahogany, which provides a balanced tone profile that's great for various music styles. The mahogany body offers nice warmth and resonance to let your notes sing, while the mahogany neck promotes great sustain and makes bending strings feel smooth and effortless. Together, they give the Polara Deluxe excellent tonal balance and playing comfort.
An Elegant Look With Bound Rosewood Fingerboard
Dressing up the Polara Deluxe's slick looks is a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. The rich rosewood feels smooth under your fingers while providing tight and precise intonation. Subtle yet stylish pearloid blocks adorn the fingerboard at multiple fret positions, complementing the pearloid Guild logo and Chesterfield inlays on the headstock. With its classy appointments, the Polara Deluxe looks fantastic on stage.
Shape Your Sound With Versatile Humbucker Pickups
The Guild Polara Deluxe gives you exceptional tonal flexibility thanks to its versatile humbucker pickups. It features hot-wound Guild HB-2+ humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, designed for higher output while retaining the rich character of vintage Guild models. Each pickup has an Alnico V magnet at its core for balanced tone with crisp highs and tight lows. For even more variety, push/pull coil-splitting on the volume knobs splits each humbucker into a single coil, letting you get glassy Strat-style tones at the flip of a switch.
Stay In Tune With Guild Vintage Open-Back Tuners
The Polara Deluxe is equipped with Guild's own vintage-style 18:1 ratio open-back tuners. The tuners are mounted on the backside of the headstock to continue the sleek aesthetic. With an 18:1 gear ratio, the tuners provide precise tuning control. Combined with the set neck design, these tuners keep the Polara Deluxe stable and in tune even during heavy use. The tuners feature Guild's classic half-moon knobs for easy tuning adjustments on the fly.
Vintage-Inspired Design With Modern Playability
The Polara Deluxe nails the vintage vibe with its traditional body shape, vintage open-back tuners and other retro design elements. But it plays like a modern guitar thanks to its comfortable C-shaped neck, 12.5" fingerboard radius and narrow-tall frets. The 24.75" scale length feels familiar and inviting. And with three gloss finish options—including Cherry Red, Vintage Sunburst and Canyon Dusk Metallic—you can get classic Guild looks or modern flair.

It's nice, it looks and feels great, the pickups sound great, but the string tension is very heavy and the tuners are crap....so, be prepared to shell out for tubers and drop from 10s to 9s

I am overjoyed with this guitar. It is so comfortable to play, is light as a feather, and provides a bite my other guitars lack. I was really surprised by the build quality, it is perfect.
My SG Replacement

I've been a guitar player for over 30 years, and I've mainly been a Gibson Les Paul guy, along with a few of the new Epiphones. I was in the market for a new Gibson SG, so I ordered the new SG Standard and it arrived damaged. I sent it back and it's replacement had significant QC issues, so I sent that one back. After online shopping for a few days, I decided to take a chance on this Guild Polara Deluxe, in Cherry Red. When this guitar arrived I was blown away at the quality. It was playable straight out of the (rugged) box. All I did was some pretty minor nut-slot filing, fretboard conditioning and put on my strings of choice. For this low of a price you get a genuine Rosewood fretboard, long neck tenon, shielded body cavities, OUTSTANDING pickups, with a coil-split feature that actually sounds good, excellent tuning stability and a very well balanced guitar with NO NECK DIVE! Something that's always bugged me about SG's. I'm proud to add this Guild to my small collection of Gibsons, and I'm finding myself playing it much more than I anticipated. It's a great looking, great playing, great sounding guitar for less than half the price of a Gibson SG.
A Better SG

I've been a Gibson guy since the 80's, but I was seriously disappointed with my most recent Gibson SG Standard purchase, AND it's replacement. I saw this Polara and took a chance Very, very glad I did. Better, thicker body than an AG, which means it's well balanced, no Neck Dive. Better pickups than the 490 pair that Gibson is churning out. These sound very clear and open, with just enough bite, they handle distortion and fuzz very well, and they have a coil split feature that actually sounds good. I normally play heavier, louder music. And this Polara is perfect for it. It's better to look at too, just different enough to make people wonder what you're playing. Mine needed almost no setup work out of the box. Just a quick string change and tuning. It's staying in tune perfectly, and it's just really fun to play. Great looks, playability and tone for much less than a new Gibson. What's not to love? Dare to be different!
