In this case, the answer to that old Indiana Jones rhetorical question is...convenience! Purchased this snake to help mic a drum kit, connecting a Presonus Digimax D8 into a Tascam DP32SD. Initial test worked great. Cables are color-coded and seem of solid quality.

This is my second HOSA recording snake (both with 1/4-in-to1/4-in plugs). I bought it on sale as a spare. My first one is still going strong after at least 10 years of regular (1-3 times a week) use, with no problems.

  • Working great for live recordings.

This is the second unit I bought from GC. I use the cables to plug into the direct or insert output on mixer channels to record bands live. Just bought another recorder to expand my channel count and another cable. Although not top of the line Mogami by any means, the current cable, treated gently, has gotten me through over a year of recording. Dog hunts good.

  • Excellent way to keep things neat

I bought this after purchasing a patchbay to use as a link to my monitoring mixer and two-channel AD converter. Patchbays can effectively double the number of wires you've got, and snakes are a great way to keep uncluttered. I loved this one because of the color coding, made it very easy to choose which input/output to plug in to on my patchbay and coordinate with the channels of my monitoring mixer (ROY G BIV,white).
