Amazing bass for an amazing price
I bought this product only after the GSR205 in walnut was back-ordered to a date over three months after I ordered it. However, I'm very happy with it. The finish is gorgeous, the pickups sound clear, the neck is fast, the fingerboard is smooth- it's a wonderful bass. However, there is slight fret buzzing, even when tuned to E standard. Not a huge deal, especially when compared to the many pros.

You get what you pay for
I have owned several premium Ibanez basses and have always found them to be good quality in terms of built, feel and sound. This 205SM does not fall into that category. to its credit it is lightweight and comfortable on my shoulder and back for long perioids of play. It looks beautiful as well. The volume pot for the neck P/U developed some static and spraying contact cleaner didn't resolve the issue. I probably will have to replace the 500K pot. The tone isn't stellar to my ears and all in all it doesn't measure up to any previous 5 strings I have owned. I don't like this bass but gave it 3 stars because I don't hate it..just dislike it overall. Selling it cheap and don't care about losing money. I just want it gone and out of my life..I will stick with better quality basses.

Ridiculously good for such a low price

This is *seriously* a fantastic little bass. Plays great and sounds great. The Jatoba fingerboard is incredibly comfortable. Even at its slightly shorter scale length, the B is clear and punchy. Only downside is the controls. I prefer blend pots instead of separate volume pots and at least two band EQ as opposed to a single tone knob (and ideally the pots have detent notches) but you're already getting a quality instrument at a very reasonable price and can only expect so much. In almost every respect, this guitar exceeds expectations.

Love it. it's my first bass and it's very easy to play. I'm 6'5 and it's a great size for me. The cutouts are very comfortable and the bass overall is beautiful. The tone is great, the pickups have some real power.
Very nice bass

This is a very nice bass. The price might suggest otherwise, but i have been impressed with it. It sounds great, is easy to play, comfortable, and looks nice as well. I did have to adjust the truss rod and the intonation a bit, but that's to be expected. The electronics allow for a wide range of tones and some serious low end. I have been very pleased with the purchase thus far.

how much does this guitar weight
All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.5 lbs.submitted2 years ago
