Unsung hero!

I bought this bass (pearl white - 4 string) on a whim at my local Guitar Center store. I needed an affordable back-up bass just to get me through a practice that was approaching while my main bass (Warwick Corvette Standard) was out of commission due to some maintenance issues. At the time of purchase, I thought I would only be using this bass a small handful of times and never expected to be so blown away. I am an experienced bassist that has owned many high-end instruments ranging from Music Mans to Warwicks over the past 10-15 years. This Ibanez absolutely blew me away when I plugged it in. I set both my amp and bass EQ flat, with the exception of the bass and treble knobs dialed to 1 o'clock and instantly had a punchy, growly, flat-out impressive tone. I tend to play more aggressive finger-style and this bass was sounding incredible to me, all with VERY minimal effort to try and seek out a great tone. The neck is thin and the bass is very light, making it a pleasure to play. The simple, active controls allow you to shape many a tone with ease. Don't be fooled by the price tag and the illusion that this is strictly a bass designed for beginners. This bass can absolutely NOT be beat for the money! I loved it so much I quickly bought the Soda Blue Sunburst model as well. I never thought I would say this, but this has become my #1 bass. Although you have been great to me over the past 10+ years, goodbye old faithful (and super heavy!) Warwick; you have been replaced. Buy. This. Bass. You won't regret it.

Good bass, arrived with some issues

I visited guitar center and only saw the blue sunburst option in stock, so I had the white one shipped to the store and picked it up a few days later. Out of the box, the strap holder screws were extremely stripped and fell out immediately, which I wasn't expecting from a brand new bass. The finish also had some unsightly scratches around the pickups. Some of the EQ knobs feel inconsistently loose, and the volume knob feels like it can be strained and turned beyond its intended range. None of these issues were too major and could probably be fixed if I put in some effort, but they were somewhat unexpected. Aside from some fret buzz, it plays great. EQ knobs on the bass is a nice touch and helps in finding a tone you like. It has good pickups and feels light and maneuverable, albeit somewhat cheap. I'm happy with the bass itself, but won't be making the mistake of purchasing an instrument I haven't physically seen again.

I'm in a gigging band. I bought my first white SR250 as a back up bass and it ended up becoming my main bass. I bought a second blue sunburst and use both during gigs, in different tunings.

Light weight and super easy to learn. The neck is perfect, small and it helps me to get the right notes. It's a great bass for beginner and intermediate.

All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.0 lbs.
