The SR405EQM features an Accu-cast B300 bridge, renowned for its precise intonation and exceptional string-to-body vibration transfer. This bridge ensures that your bass stays in tune and delivers a resonant and responsive tone. The 3-way Power Tap switch adds another dimension of tonal versatility, allowing you to choose between a rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil sound or an enhanced single-coil sound with added low end from the humbucker. This versatility makes the SR405EQM a true sonic chameleon, capable of handling any genre with ease.
Quilted Maple Top and Nyatoh Body: A Stunning Combination of Style and Comfort
The SR405EQM features a stunning quilted maple top that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to its aesthetic. Very nice 5 string with lots of flexibility
This bass is great. The best aspect is the different sounds you can get out of this bass. This is the first active bass I have really loved how it sounds. I can get a sound that comes across as passive or active. It has really fantastic build quality and looks amazing. The string spacing is tight compared to a traditional 4 string P. And the neck is thinner than a vintage instrument. I am glad this instrument is different. The neck size and string spacing works very well for me.

I've had some problems
I've had nothing but problems with mine. Fret buzz had to replace a jack. Now I'm having problems with the new jack and it's developed a humm

I've been a fan if Ibanez basses for a long time and have owned several. I find the mid-range are the best buy simply because they're so close in quality to the higher end model. This is a tad cheaper than the next model which has Barolini pickeps but I have to say, I prefer these pups. They're very "focused." I had the premier version with Norstrands which has sizzling highs and deep lows but those frequencies would get eaten up when playing live and where a little too aggressive for recording. Add to the fact that the finish is absolutely beautiful and this bass is a winner. Now, watch them discontinue it.
I would recommend this product without a doubt.

I bought mine several years ago when I decided to go to a 5 string. I played it in the store and bought it on the spot. It has been played every Sunday, Sunday Evening and Wednesday nights for the past 9 years. I Love the low end and the mid-range sound . It is a little lacking on the higher ranges . Finish it durable held up well on the body and hardware. Neck is smooth and comfortable. I am buying a second one as a back up. It is used for praise and worship, but I play with a group of musicians that play a variety of genres. Rock, country, blues, jazz, contemporary Christian and the old hymns, this bass handles everything that I thrown at it. Great buy for the money.
Great buy

I was wondering if I could get the surreal blue bass except I want it with four strings and I was wondering if I could have that specially made
I'm sorry, modifications are not available. If available, a SpecialOrder may be possible but manufacturers don't do custom buildssubmitted5 years ago

It appears that there is a battery compartment on the back. Since it has passive pickups, I assume this is for the EQ. Can you play the guitar without a battery? Thanks.
