    I got the soft rubber marimba mallets and medium hard bell mallets. I don't really have past experience to compare them to, but I think they work well for what I need them for. The medium hard bell mallets produce a nice resonant sound on my glockenspiel. I got the soft mallets to practice glockenspiel quietly in my apartment, and the sound from the instrument is definitely much quieter. It's even softer than the thud of the mallet against the bar.
