Jackson

collapse expand iconDescription

The Jackson JS34Q Dinky DKAM electric guitar is a sleek solidbody electric guitar that provides an incredible value for shredders and rockers on a budget. The poplar body with a stunning quilt maple top gives this axe a premium look, while the bolt-on maple speed neck with graphite reinforcement facilitates fast and precise fingering up and down the bound fingerboard. Powered by a high-output humbucker and two single coils that deliver a range of chunky rhythms and searing leads, this guitar pumps out versatile, aggressive tone suited for metal, hard rock and other genres that require distortion and gain. With a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo bridge, you can perform radical divebombs, squeals and warbles. The JS34Q Dinky is a high-performance electric guitar with versatile sound and fast playability at an affordable price.

Dual High-Output Humbuckers Produce Aggressive Tone

The Jackson JS34Q Dinky is equipped with a Jackson high-output humbucking pickup with ceramic magnets and a pair of single coils to provide fat, overdriven tone perfect for hard rock and metal. With simple three-way switching, you can quickly change pickups on the fly.

Floyd Rose Double-Locking Tremolo Enables Dive Bombs and Squeals

The Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo bridge allows for radical pitch-shifting effects like dive bombs, squeals and warbles. After tuning the JS34Q Dinky, the strings are locked at the nut and bridge, providing exceptional tuning stability even under heavy whammy bar use. Unlock the nut to quickly change tunings or string gauges, then re-lock for rock-solid intonation during performances and recording sessions.

Maple Neck and Compound-Radius Fingerboard Facilitate Fast Playing

The bolt-on maple speed neck with graphite reinforcement is designed for high-speed, low-drag playing. A compound-radius bound fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets starts at a comfortable 12" radius at the nut and flattens out to a super-fast 16" at the body end. This gradual flattening gives you the best of both worlds, combining easy open-position chording with effortless shredding higher up the neck.

Premium Components and Styling at an Affordable Price

From the arched quilt maple top and bound fingerboard and headstock to the black hardware and sharkfin inlays, the JS34Q Dinky exhibits many of the premium features you'd expect from Jackson at a price that's surprisingly affordable. Available in transparent red and blue finishes, this sleek solidbody electric guitar delivers high performance for any budget.

-Played in store-

So I noticed this came into my local Guitar Center today (I'm a regular) and I decided to give it a try. I picked it up to notice a relatively slim neck with a little bit more of a D shaped neck than most Ibanez's. Slightly fatter than an Ibanez but more round than a Schecter and super fast. I plugged it into a Line 6 combo (mediocre at best but better than most amps in the store at the time). It sounded AMAZING d00d. The bridge pickup was very articulate and slightly lower output for being a stock pickup. (keep in mind I was playing on a Line 6...) The middle pickup was kind of bland but not bad at all. The neck pickup was pretty treble heavy. To counteract that, just turn down the tone to taste... But anyway, it played like a dream and the Jackson branded Floyd was super comfortable and pushed and pulled really smooth and easy. However, the tuners could be better. They turn slightly too fast to get really accurate tuning but I think they did that to counter the string lag due to the extreme distance from the tuner to the nut. The finish wasn't extremely flashy and defined. (If that's something you worry about) Intonation was close and the action was great (not too high not too low) and had absolutely no buzz. This guitar isn't too heavy (not nearly as heavy as a Les Paul) and it resonated solidly. I don't think I would need to change the pickups anytime soon if I get it and I wouldn't worry about the tuners. If you're looking for a great guitar with a Floyd, a quilted maple top, and HSS style, this is it. GET IT IMMEDIATELY ?_?.

Love Hate Relationship with

I have had the guitar for about 8 months now. Sounded great as soon as I got it home from GC. But the thrill was soon to be gone. After the first time I changed the strings, I couldn't get the locking screws back on, much like others have commented. I ended up using a couple of washers and that was my "temporary" fix. I emailed Jackson, explained the problem and their response was basically, "We've never heard about that, might be the paint that is preventing the bolts to screw in. But it sounds like you found a work around." I used the washers until I had to change the strings. This time I used smaller gauge, but still couldn't get the bolts to screw in. However, I have found a fix. I took a file to the top of each locking piece and filed it down about 3/64". I'm glad to say, the strings are now locked in place with the correct "modified" parts. Just like all things, you get cheap materials when manufactured out of USA. Other than this small issue, the guitar screams, cries and sings when I need it. The neck is fast and very smooth playing. Looking to get buy on a mid price guitar get it, but be prepared to make some adjustments.

Loving the quality of my Dinky. Well balanced in weight, jumbo frets that give the right room for bigger fingers to soar around the neck cleanly fretting chords and the fret dividers are smooth and not sharp at the ends. The pickups are vintage Jackson. I've got two Humbuckers. My Kramer's are nice but my Jackson Dinky stole my heart. Shipping and delivery was fast and the guitar was packaged well protecting the product. Wish I had just brought all Jackson Dinkys a great sounding bolt on Maple neck

This guitar is awesome. I may not have it but I did just play with it and my Guitar Center. Great neck and body, humbuckers are perfect, the bridge, strings, and locking nut are the sweet.

This guitar is amazing if you know how to handle the Floyd Rose (a lot of reviews talk about it not staying in tune, I haven't had a problem yet). I also have a JS22 Dinky and a Rhodes JS32T and this is the best JS series Jackson I've played so far. I can burn through power cords and hit dive bombs all day long on this thing.

  • Wouldn't Buy it again

During the first week I bought it, it played well and I liked the looks of it. Untill the 3rd week is when problems started happening. I took great care of it untill my whammy bar came right off.A bad thing about the guitar is that if you look at the pickups, you can see exposed wires

  • I would not recommend this guitar

I bought this guitar 6 days before I had to return it. The day I took it home I noticed that the 2nd fret on the high e string was buzzing every time I played it. Later in the week the collet on the whammy bar came loose so I couldn't even take the whammy bar off. It turned out though when I took it into my local guitar center to have it looked at, the service guy told me to just refund it and get my money back because the neck was badly warped. This was a brand new guitar too. Not a used one. Overall would not buy again and I'm going to stay away from Jackson's for a while. It was playable but not really enjoyable. The patterns on it were really nice though

  • I would definitely buy this guitar again

These guitars are now manufactured differently and have slightly different specs. They would not be very comparable to the Japanese made DK2's in the early 2000's.
