Description
The Kickport Kickport Bass Drum Sound Enhancer, a revolutionary resonant head insert designed to boost your kick drum's low-frequency response and punch. The Kickport's patented design enhances your bass drum's sound by porting the drum like a bass reflex speaker cabinet, which amplifies low frequencies. It adds ideal dampening directly to the resonant head, allowing you to remove most internal muffling. The Kickport also focuses the air as it exits the kick drum, creating a natural compression effect that boosts punch.
Tunable for Optimal Tone
The Kickport is tunable, from 16" to 28", for maximum flexibility in bass drum tones. Adjust the tuning of your resonant head to tune the Kickport up or down. This tunability, combined with the Kickport's broadband design, provides more robust low-end, improved definition, and enhanced punch in any acoustic environment.
Feel the Power Behind the Kit
The Kickport's benefits are not just for your audience and sound engineer—you'll feel them behind the kit. Experience a kick drum with more power and resonance. The Kickport gives drummers a tool for perfecting their kick drum's tone, tuning, head selection and mic placement in any playing situation.
Quick and Easy Installation
The Kickport installs in seconds through the resonant head port hole. Simply remove your current resonant head, place the Kickport in the port hole, and reinstall the head. The Kickport instantly improves your kick drum's sound, with no drilling or modifications required.
Roadworthy and Affordable
The Kickport is durable, portable, and affordable, making it an essential addition to any drum set. It's built to handle the rigors of touring and the road. And at its reasonable price point, the Kickport provides an innovative way to improve your kick drum's tone without breaking the bank.

If you put a hole in your bass drum, you know the difference that makes to the sound. The "Kickport", does that much to change the sound again. It gives a lower tonal note and projects that lower thump out to the audience. If you play live and that's what you're looking for when you cut that hole in the head, you've only done half the job. Not to mention that it protects the hole from being ripped from moving the drums around, but it doesn't fatigue the edge of the hole from the air constantly being pushed through the hole either. All I'm saying is once you put one in your bass drum, you wont want to play one without it.

Installed the Kickport on a 22x14 ddrum kick. installation was easy, but you really do need to remove the front head in order to do it. The sound changed, I wouldn't necessarily say for the better, but it did punch it up a little.

will installing a kickport in a 26*14 bassdrum help with the resonance of the batter side head? I have installed felt strips on both the heads and still have alot of movement of the batterside head. Will allowing the air to escape help with that?
Installing a Kickport in your 26"x14" bass drum can help manage the batter head's resonance and excessive movement. The Kickport functions like a bass reflex port, focusing and compressing the air as it exits the drum. This design enhances low-end frequencies and can reduce the internal air pressure that causes the batter head to rebound excessively. By allowing air to escape more efficiently, the Kickport can provide a tighter, more controlled feel on the batter side. However, since you've already applied felt strips to both heads, it's important to consider that the Kickport's effectiveness might be influenced by the existing dampening. Excessive muffling can diminish the natural resonance and tone of your drum. The Kickport is designed to work best with minimal internal muffling, allowing the drum to resonate more freely while still controlling unwanted overtones. Adding a Kickport could help balance the batter head's resonance and improve overall control, but it's advisable to evaluate the current dampening setup to ensure optimal results.submitted3 years ago
