Kramer

collapse expand iconDescription

The Kramer SM-1 Electric Guitar revives the iconic '80s Kramer legacy with a familiar double-cutaway mahogany body and lightning-fast neck, now equipped with cutting-edge pickups and hardware for today's shredders. The SM-1's Seymour Duncan JB bridge humbucker, Cool Rails neck humbucker and mini-toggle coil tap switch provide a wealth of hard rock and metal tones from thick, saturated distortion to articulate single-coil clarity. A Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo with locking nut enables dive bombs, squeals and shimmering harmonics while keeping the SM-1 perfectly in tune.

Seymour Duncan Pickups Provide Versatile High-Gain Tone

The SM-1 is loaded with a trio of Seymour Duncan humbuckers for impactful rock tone and versatility. The JB in the bridge position delivers punchy, balanced distortion with rich harmonics. The Cool Rails neck humbucker has the thickness of a humbucker but fits in a single-coil slot, providing warmth and clarity. A mini-toggle coil tap switch splits the Cool Rails for glassy neck-pickup tone. This combination of pickups gives guitarists a full palette of tones for everything from classic rock to modern metal.

Floyd Rose Tremolo Enables Dazzling Techniques

The SM-1 features a Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo and locking nut for tuning stability during the most extreme whammy bar acrobatics. The Floyd Rose system uses fine tuners behind the bridge and a locking nut to keep each string locked in place, enabling guitarists to perform dive bombs, squeals and shrieking harmonics without the guitar going out of tune. The SM-1 gives shredders a trusted platform for showcasing their most dazzling techniques.

Fast Neck and Jumbo Frets For Blazing Leads

The SM-1 has a slim maple neck and 14"-radius ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, providing a familiar shredding feel. The flat fingerboard and narrow string spacing allow fast, fluid playing, while the jumbo frets make it easy to articulate notes and bend strings. A sculpted heel gives comfortable access to the upper frets. This high-performance neck is built for guitarists who demand speed, precision, and comfort.

A Legend Reborn for Today's Players

The Kramer SM-1 revives the brand's iconic '80s esthetic with a sleek mahogany body, distinctive headstock, and choice of eye-catching finishes including candy blue, orange crush, and maximum steel. Upgraded with contemporary pickups and hardware, the SM-1 delivers the tone and playability that made Kramer a legend, enhanced for today's shredders and hard rock players.

This guitar plays easy and feels great. It has a great finish . The Floyd rose is durable. The pickups are great that come in it. We'll worth the price.

Ordered online. Paid extra for 2 day delivery. Received with defective toggle switch or neck pickup. You would think a guitar that costs over $1,000 would have better quality control before shipment. Yes, it can probably be fixed but that also means a week in the shop before they even get done with it and multiple trips to guitar center.

  • Very nice guitar! JB pickup sounds great!

Can you confirm if this guitar has a satin finish neck? I have been trying to avoid finishes that make my hands stick.

I’m sorry, I don’t know. I don't have one to check. It appears to be high gloss.
