collapse expand iconDescription

Though bright refers to its finish, this series actually takes the traditional Byzance and darkens its sound. This is due to a finishing process that limits the high end as the cymbal is buffed to its brilliant look. Heavier models penetrate with directness and thinner ones shimmer with warmth. The overall combination of dark tonality and warm spread make Byzance Brilliant a great choice for any style. The MEINL Byzance Brilliant 14" china has bright overtones with a sizzling, trashy brash sound. This is a great cymbal for quick accents and very unique riding effects.

I bought this cymbal a couple of years ago and have gone through 3 of them in that time period(replaced by warranty). They each seem to last me about 3-5 months and I've never had a cymbal break on me like that before. Don't get me wrong, this cymbal is certainly one of the best sounding china's that I've ever heard, but I can't afford to replace it twice a year. Maybe you won't have the same problems as me, but don't say I didn't warn you!

This bad boy packs a packs a punch!!! as soon as I got it (18") I was amazed at the finish, so shiny. Unlike other chinas ive owned (Zildjian:ZBT,ZHT,& A Custom)This china sounded amazing and trashy with the perfect amount of sustain, and it cuts through everything. it sounds just as good, if not better, than the Zildjian Oriental, except the Oriental is a tad bit Brighter sounding. If you are looking for an AMAZING high quality china, get this bad boy!

this cymbal i got an 18" its actually pretty good it has a dark trashy sound but i dont think it should be worth $270 mabye a little less but i would advice people to buy this if they are looking into it especially for bands that play metal with heavy breakdowns and stuffs of that sort

I just finished playing my drums 10 minutes ago. I bought the 14" and 16". The 14" is the most beautiful cymbal i have ever heard. It's trashy with a short sustain (slightly longer than a good splash) and a very good pitch that complements the 16" very well. I replaced my 18" zildjian oriental china (Had a longer sustain and was not as trashy) with this. It has a short sustain, but not too short. I would recomend the Brilliant Byzance china to everyone I come across
