collapse expand iconDescription

This Meinl Byzance extra dry China cymbal is a unique china with a dark, dirty sound that has a wide spectrum of frequencies. An explosive attack due to the medium weight and the partial lathing.

Extra Dry cymbals have big hammer marks which-in combination with the untreated, natural finish-enable an extremely dark sound with a short sustain. They exhibit dominant lows with an esoteric character.

This Meinl Byzance China cymbal is completely hand-hammered into shape and satisfies the highest demands of its users. Every Byzance cymbal is a piece of art and has its own unique sound characteristics which can never be duplicated.

This thing looks incredible. Meinl really nails that raw, unfinished cymbal look. These are explosive, dry, dark and extremely trashy. Unfortunately, they're way TOO trashy for my tastes. Every one I've heard sounds like a trash can lid. Not that chinas are known for being really musical, but these ones are too abrasive and annoying for me.

I just did a huge upgrade on my set, which had Sabian B8s. I've been a Sabian/Meinl fan for a long time, so I decided to get all Meinls. When I came across this cymbal, it blew me away. It has the attack of a Wuhan china, and also the trashiness, but it doesn't break as easily. Plus, it has that little extra kick to it that makes breakdowns twice as powerful. And not to mention it looks amazing, and it's well worth the price.

This china is so dark an amazing. It's loud--great for gigging or live events but not too loud to annoy any neighbors. It's very very trashy, with minimal overtones, and a very dark tone to it.i reall hope meinl comes out with 12-16 inch sizes, because let me tell you something-the second they do, im buying all of them. This is by far ne of the best chinas on the market for metal players, amateur or pro. BUY IT!
