I wanted that real sound that would cut through on the track. Well made and ready to play out the box. For the price, I'm more than satisfied.

I bought this for my son who is learning Djembe and when it showed up at work I let a seasoned Djembe player look at it and all he could say was "wow." He said it again when he played it and when I told him the price. IMHO, there is no comparison between a real wood Djembe and the synthetic ones. The wood sounds so much more natural.

Does it have extra rope to tune the head? If so, where is it? Usually it is wrapped around the waist.
