10" HCS Splash

Description
The Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal 8" adds a quick burst of brightness to your drum set. Handcrafted in Germany from MS63 brass alloy, this splash cymbal produces a crisp, focused tone with lightning-fast sustain. It's the perfect filler for punching up grooves or ornamenting fills, giving drummers an easy way to expand their sonic palette. While highly affordable, the HCS Splash refuses to sound cheap or clangy thanks to Meinl's decades of experience crafting high-quality cymbals.
Cut Through the Mix With Ease
The HCS Splash's small 8" size and medium weight allow it to cut through dense mixes with clarity and ease. Its fast, shimmering response provides rhythmic punctuation without overpowering the other instruments. This high-quality splash is ideal for jazz, rock, funk, and fusion styles that call for a quick, musical splash of color.
Built to Last
Don't be fooled by the HCS Splash's budget-friendly price—this is not a flimsy beginner's cymbal. Made from durable MS63 brass alloy in Meinl's German factory, it's crafted to the same high standards as Meinl's professional lines. Even hard-hitting drummers will have trouble denting or warping this little powerhouse. An excellent upgrade over stock cymbals, the HCS Splash looks and sounds completely professional so you can focus on your playing with confidence.
Well-Balanced Tone and Appearance
The HCS Splash features a hammered surface with evenly spaced grooves that dampen unwanted overtones and produce a clean, focused tone. Its medium weight and symmetrical shape create an ideal balance of volume and sustain. Under stage lights, the splash's hammered surface shimmers, adding visual interest to your drum set. The Meinl logo is subtly engraved along the edge—a small detail that reinforces the cymbal's high-quality construction.
Expand Your Set With the Complete HCS Line
The HCS Splash is just one of many cymbals in Meinl's affordable HCS line. With crash cymbals, rides, hi-hats, Chinas, and effects cymbals, you can create a complete, professional-sounding cymbal set at an entry-level price.

It's okay for your practice kit...
Its okay, but it needs some work. I bought the splash in February of 2015, and it cracked in June of 2017 and used it about another month before it started to really affect the sound, and went out and bought my S Zildjian splash. For the time, it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend using it outside the practice room. The whole thing sounds very tinny, and the sound is not at all balanced. It seems to have 2 pitches to it, and they don't harmonize well. I guess I can excuse it for the price, because it isn't that much, but I wouldn't buy it again. If you own a few drum sets, and one of them stays in your basement all the time and only gets used for rehearsals, it wouldn't be a bad addition (I guess) but I'd recommend to invest a little more and buy an Zbt Zildjian. It just doesn't really sound like a cymbal, let alone a splash. Otherwise, if you're on a tight budget, then it wouldn't be terrible to add to your kit, but take it with a grain of salt.

This cymbal sounds incredible especially when paired with the 20" ride. It adds a nice accent. I'm extremely happy with it and I can't wait to play live to show it off!

I have both the 10" and 12" HCS Splashes, and while neither is going to win any awards for projection, sustain, or sound quality, they are durable, cheap, and sound better than anything else I've encountered at this price point. These are a great way to add on to a beginner's set cheaply, or potentially even for low volume live settings.
Nice sound for the price.

I use this cymbal on my drum set at church. It's quick responsive sound is nice as a snare replace when music breaks and overall good accompaniment to any complete drum set. I have it setup in a stack, upside down on top of 14" crash.
Really Solid Splash Cymbal

I have a few HCS series cymbals, and I personally enjoy using them. Are they the best sounding cymbals? Definitely not, but they're extremely solid, especially for the price. This 10 inch splash can fit in many different situations, and it's pretty durable. I mainly use it as an accent splash on my kit, or when I want to hit a splash that is bright but not too loud. Granted the HCS series doesn't have great attack, especially the normal crash cymbals, but the splash's are good enough for my taste. The best thing about them is that if you break one, they're super cheap. Definitely would recommend to beginners and to those who want another splash cymbal that is really solid and bright, but not overbearing. Again it's far from being the best sounding splash out there, but it's good enough for me!
