Double check the actual sizes of bongos....!

Double check your actual bongo head sizes for the Meinl "Headliner Series". There is certainly some obvious confusion as relating to the misidentification of these bongos. The Meinl "Journey Series" are actually 6-1/2" (macho) & 7-1/2" (hembra). This will become a real issue when you decide to replace/upgrade your heads (skins)...Meinl and Remo both specify that the "Headliner Series" are 6-3/4" (macho) & 8" (hembra). The two different Meinl bongo series like nearly identical but the sizes are the real difference. Slight difference in pricing as well. Check out Meinl & Remo websites for catalog for the specification info.

This bongo sounds great, i know I'm not an expert on this type of instrument at all but with what I am hearing when I play this and with some adjustment using the included tuner I was able to compare the sound from some videos I found on youtube.

  • i like these bongos, have been a drummer since 1970.

I have retired and just play locally on weekends, and have been getting into latin and cuban drumming and want to work this into my playing. these are not top tier bongos but have a great sound and work very well for me at this point. if need arises I will purchase pro model from Meinl and Guitar center.

  • Item Seems to be of good quality & plays well…

Used it for a few recordings and just to jam with, it is exactly what I was looking for before I purchased bongos. You can get lovely high and low end sounds from these drums, highly recommend

Got these for my daughter because she kept begging me for them. Problem is that now I can't stop playing them. Great sound, well made. Highly addictive.
