    Nano coating on bass strings—such as those found in the Markbass Longevo Series Nano Film Shielded Electric Bass Strings (40-100 gauge)—refers to a microscopic protective layer applied to the surface of the strings. Nano coating uses ultra-thin polymer films (often just a few nanometers thick) to cover the entire string. In the case of the Markbass Longevo Series, this is called "Nano Film Shielding."The coating repels moisture, sweat, and oils from your fingers, which are the main causes of corrosion and grime buildup. Great for players with acidic sweat or those who want strings to last longer between changes.
