I own 11 guitars and this is my third Strat style guitar. I have an American Pro which I love but when I saw PRS had made a version I knew I would have to have one. It takes the things I really love about PRS's, like the neck feels great and natural. I can't say the neck feels thicker than my Strat because I'm able to use my thumb over top all over neck just like I do with my Strat with no issue and the radius on the neck that feels great to play. This is also my third PRS. I really feel like PRS is one of the best guitar companies out there. I bought two SE's, one with the split coil. That was my cheapest guitar and I was just so amazed at the quality of it. Their Indonesian site really turns out a well made guitar. You'd be very hard pressed to find a better guitar for the money. In my opinion their Indonesian site is turning out guitars that are on par in quality with what you're getting from the US based competitor's like Gibson and Fender. I have an American made by both and any of my PRS's are just as well made as they are. Eventually I will have to break down and get an American Custom made guitar from PRS Wood Library. All that aside, the Silver Sky is the new modern Strat in my opinion. It's definitely a player's guitar. It just felt so familiar from the first strum. I had been playing my Strat for a few hours before the PRS showed up and it definitely had a familiarity right away.. I would say it is like my PRS SE and my Strat had a baby. The tone of the single coils are fantastic and the build quality is what we have come to expect from PRS. I have several amps and one of them is Mark Tremonti's PRS amp and cabinet with it and it just sounds incredible. I've been playing it none stop since I got the Sky. I also own a Mexican model Strat and it roughly the same price. I think the Mexican made Strat is a great guitar for the price, but it's not as well made as the PRS is. I've never had a single fret on any of my PRSs that were even slightly rough. I love the color. I bought the Stone Blue and it is a great color. It is very light weight and is definitely lighter and thinner than my Strats. It very comfortable to play sitting down and the weight makes it comfortable when standing. I really don't have a single negative thing to say about it.. On a life boat and I can only take one Strat style guitar, sorry Fender, this is the one.
