Wow!

In January, I started leading Praise and Worship songs for my Sunday School class, a group with over 50 people on its roster. We average 40 members each Sunday. Due to the size of the class I started using my electric guitar, and quickly decided dragging a corded amp (small, but still about 50% larger than Spark2) was not the way to go. I tried another small battery powered amp, and it did not have the volume needed. I purchased my Spark 2 about 30 days ago...and Wow. Just Wow. Incredible tone, plenty of volume so the folks in the back row can hear the music. And real BASS. When I play lower strings you can feel the notes. I mainly play "clean" for the class, so I don't crank the gain much at all, but when playing at home, this little box can really rock. Very impressive sound for it's size.

Buy the Yamaha instead.

I thought I had done extensive research and this was the one to get, but mine had a awful speaker crackle problem that does not exist through the headphone jack. I wasn't aware of this problem but after some more research its clear it is a common issue. Firmware updates did not fix it and numerous people report replacements have the same speaker crackle issue. I returned mine within 24 hours of getting as it was that bad. The app is also very buggy and crashed numerous times trying to update the firmware. Do your research on these problems before buying, especially the speaker crackle because it is a hardware problem, not a software problem (check youtube videos). It did sound good, especially when listening through the head phone jack... But the speaker issue and the app problems are really unacceptable. It feels like the product was rushed to the market. Recommend spending the extra cash on the Yamaha.

I have the mini and I wanted the spark 2 so I now have it. I love that you can do the firmware update over the Wi-Fi. Just a click of a button and it updated. Wish my mini could be that easy but it's not. It's a great amp and I am glad I got it.

It is great for Practicing solo, Backing tracks come through clear. Battery sold SEPERATE. The speakers are built like a stereo not a guitar amp. Tuner is not good. Versat tones for multiple genres, this is your amp. If you just want to play metal go with Fender Mustang.

I bought this for my son who is learning guitar and needed an amp that would be small and have all the features of a larger amp. He said it was awesome. He is enjoying the learning experience and the Bluetooth functionality too. #sweepstakes

I bought this for my son who is learning guitar. He said this amp was awesome. He is using it to get the tones that he likes, and also the Bluetooth speaker for his tunes. He lives in a small apartment and this amp fills the bill for small spaces. Review for sweepstakes

Presets are good but, better if you make your own. You can do a lot with the app, you just have to get in there and work with it.

Bought this to practice with in my office (have a TMP at home). I was previously using a Fendr Mustang Micro Plus, but struggled to get good tones. The Spark 2 is perfect for small room practicing. The AI search works amazing! Within minutes I found the tones I was looking for.

The Positive Grid Spark 2 (50W) is primarily a guitar amplifier and is not designed for direct use with a vocal microphone. Here's why: Why it's not ideal for vocals: Input design: It only has 1/4" instrument-level inputs (TS), designed for electric or acoustic guitar signals—not microphones. No XLR input or mic preamp: Vocal mics (especially dynamic or condenser types) typically require an XLR input and proper mic preamplification, which the Spark 2 lacks. EQ and effects: The internal DSP is tailored for guitar tones—amp sims, modulation, distortion—not vocal processing. Phantom power: If you're using a condenser mic, you'd need phantom power, which the Spark does not provide. Workarounds (not recommended, but possible): If you're just experimenting or jamming casually: Dynamic mic + impedance-matching adapter: You could plug a dynamic mic like an SM58 into a 1/4" input using an XLR-to-1/4" cable or transformer adapter, but the results will be low volume and poor clarity. Mic through preamp/interface: You could run the mic into an audio interface or small mixer with proper mic gain, then route the output into the Spark’s aux input—but again, not optimal, and you'll be bypassing guitar processing.
