    Use them for my Mackie Thump 15" speakers and Mackie 402VLZ4 mixer. Work great, high quality and have lifetime warranty. Can't beat that. Thanks Guitar Center for suggesting!

  • XLR end is not for a microphone! It's for the mixing board.

    The reviewer who spoke of using this cable to connect an XLR microphone to a guitar amp is thinking this is the cable that has a FEMALE XLR end. Even with THAT cable, such a use is not the right way to do it. What THIS cable is good for is taking a balanced (Tip Ring Sleeve - TRS) output from an instrument, such as TRS equipped acoustic-electric guitars, and going to a mixing board. You could also plug the XLR end into a line matching transformer to output as a 1/4 male Tip/Sleeve and run that into an unbalanced input to a direct box (DI) or other unbalanced input jack, such as a guitar amplifier.

    This cable is great for putting a mic into a guitar amp or any other input that needs 1/4 cable. It is nice and long so that it can be used as your main mic cable or not. The only problem with it is that it isn't put together very well so they tend to get worn out/short out after a few months to a year or so. For the price though, what can you expect. If you need this type of cable, get this and be prepared to have to replace it if you use it often.
