Magnificant Snare Batter
I have been searching for the right head for my Snare drum forever, but now I have found my dream head. I love the stick definition and feel of a single ply head, but without the Ringy overtones that come with it. This head was just what I was looking for. It is good tuned tight, or lower, extrememly versatile. This head is fairly durable, but if your a hard hitter, you might want to purchase the Clear Dot on top, it adds durability and doesnt change the sound at all (from what I can hear.). Overall, this is a great drum head, in the studio, OR in a live situation, which is a mighty fine cracker in MY book. As for Toms- Some people like this head on theyre toms, but they sound horrible to me. I can understand if someone wants to cut out overtones, then I would recomend Remo Pinstripes, or using Muffling rings, or E-rings on your tom you stop ringing. On toms this head sounds like a muddy dead fish being thrown into a plastic barrel, so unless thats the sound you want, this isnt the head for you. I prefer my Toms to be a little more lively, but not as open as Ambassadors, so I use Emperor batter heads, with Ambassador Resonant heads. As a bass drum head, this head is great. It gives a low end rumble, while eliminating any overtones, or extensive Resonance. The Remo Falam Slam patch adds a bit more attack and a little bit of a "clicking" sound to your kick. If you use this patch, you shouldnt use a Ball shaped beater, as it will not make a very good sound. I dont have any Experience with the Powerstroke 3 Ebony Kick Reso, but im sure it works as great as the Batter. So in conclusion, this head is great on Snare drum batters (top heads) , and kick drums (Top and bottom)

Powerstroke not for me
This snare head was not for me. I was hoping that this snare head would deliver a lot of crack and pop. However it was to muted and it didint seem like it gave a lot of response. I need allot of crack in my snare. I would not recomend this snare head to anyone who is playing and metal or hard rock. I would suggest a remo coated controlled snare head.
