Remo

collapse expand iconDescription

The Remo Powerstroke 3 Coated with Dot batter drumhead. This 14" head is ideal for drummers looking to add depth and focus to their sound. Remo coated the single-ply Mylar film with a durable epoxy coating and added a thin underlay ring around the edge to gently dampen high frequencies and produce a warm, resonant tone with solid low end. The Powerstroke 3 offers a balanced blend of tone control and wide-open response suited for any musical style.

Thin Underlay Ring Dampens Overtones

Remo's innovative Powerstroke 3 design incorporates a thin underlay ring that extends to the outer edge of the drumhead. This ring subtly dampens high-frequency overtones to focus the drum's tone while still allowing the head to resonate freely. The result is a powerful, balanced sound with punchy lows and controlled highs.

Coated Film Provides Warmth and Sustain

The Remo Powerstroke 3 features a single ply of Mylar coated with a durable epoxy coating. The coated film produces a warmer tone than clear heads and adds sustain and resonance. The coating also protects the drumhead from damage, moisture and temperature changes to ensure consistent performance.

Versatile and Roadworthy

With its ability to produce a balanced, focused tone suitable for any genre, the Remo Powerstroke 3 is a versatile choice for drummers on stage and in the studio. The Powerstroke 3 is also highly durable and resistant to denting and tearing, handling the rigors of touring and transport. An ideal all-purpose drumhead, the Remo Powerstroke 3 delivers the tone and performance drummers demand.

I've always used a coated white head for my snares. I love the attack, and the crisp response of the coating, compared to a clear head. Remo is a superior brand, and I think they are the most musical head for the money.
