I just bought this and a set of Danny Carey drumsticks for my Grandson to practice his lessons on, which will be quite different (more of a real drumskin feel) than the e-drum rubber pads his instructor uses.

I had bought this pad and stand recently to add to my practice kit as a floor tom, and absolutely love it. It is quality, and so far has worked perfectly. The base is sturdy, the height is fully adjustable and even has a tilt feature, which I think augments the sound nicely, in addition making it position just right for you. The pad itself is tunable, and has a nice durable surface and solid frame, which produces a deeper sound than my other pads, so it works great as a floor tom I feel. I use another remo pad as a tom attached to a clamp on a hi hat stand above this particular pad, and love it as well.. Another great purchase from Guitar Center. You can count on them to get things done and deliver.

The Remo pad is the perfect practice pad - much quieter sound, but the perfect bounce and feel of drumheads. Rubber mats are not comparable. You can put the Remo pad on some cymbal stands (but many have a larger diameter bolt on top that doesn't fit). You can buy cheaper stands (but they're more flimsy). The Remo pad on the Remo stand is perfect.

I was on a drum line at my high school and i had to practice a lot. This was great because it wasn't nearly as loud as my marching snare making great for practicing without annoying others. It is very durable. I've had mine for 5+ year and it is still going strong.

I bought this same Practice Pad when I was just beginning drumming. I didn't really know what to think of it as I was just beginning. Yet, 3 years later, a lot better at drums I turn back to this old practice and realize it's been holding up forever (considering how hard I used to hit it). It bounces really well and it will definitely hold up well. I find REMO to be a really good brand.
