Reverend

collapse expand iconDescription

The Reverend Billy Corgan Z-One, a third signature collaboration between Billy Corgan and Joe Naylor, is inspired by the heavier songs in the Smashing Pumpkins catalog. An alder body creates a thick tone, while deep cutaways provide easy access to the higher frets. Railhammer Z-One pickups have a fat midrange and a smooth top end, with custom artwork etched into the covers. An aluminum pickguard and a "Z" icon at the headstock make this one futuristic-looking guitar. The Billy Corgan Z-One is for anyone who wants to rip big rock solos with a thick, yet smooth, tone.

The Reverend Billy Corgan Z-One features an alder body with two chambered sections hidden under the guitar's brushed aluminum pickguard. Featuring uniquely voiced Railhammer Humcutter pickups with cool graphic designs etched on the pickup covers, the Z-One was specifically designed to handle heavier tones. You can roll back the bass contour and the tones are very Strat-like but don't sound like a copy-clone. Playing clean, it has a nice bluesy feel in the neck and some rockabilly in the bridge position. It also has nice upper fret access, since the Z-One body shape has deep horns. You get that luscious roasted maple medium oval profile neck and fingerboard found on other Reverend models. This one's a keeper.

I've seen the review videos on YouTube for this guitar. All have been positive. I picked up the silver version for $500 off on clearance. Fit and finish is fantastic and I'm very impressed with Reverend. Normally I stick to American made instruments but this one made me change my opinion. I would definitely buy it again. The neck is thin and smooth, feet work was fantastic and not a sharp fret. If had to give a con the frets could use a some polishing and I'll do fish when I change the strings. I've played this through a couple different amps (fender deluxe reverb, fender Princeton reverb, and a Blackstar ht5) it sounds great through all of them.

Played this guitar at NAMM 2022, and it blew me away. I never had played a reverend prior, but it was one that just felt right. Guitar sounded great, pickups were phenomenally, and contouring on the body made it comfortable to play. I would definitely recommend this to any Smashing Pumpkins or Billy Corgan fan out there, or just someone looking for a high quality, great sounding guitar.

I have only had it for two days but so far so good. First off it looks amazing. The aluminum pick guard is a first for me and now my other guitars look like they are jealous. I got the Silver Freeze. All of the hardware is top notch. The artwork on the pickups would have made me keep the guitar no matter how it played, but man does it play. You get the actual Pumpkin sounds very easily and it is awesome. Can't say enough. My first Reverend. Also my first import. I've been way too much of a snob in the past, always sticking with American made for the quality. This guitar stands up. I did not get a case though, it was not even an option. I guess they are out. I saw one online for this guitar in a video and it looks really cool, so I will pick it up eventually.
