Description
The Sabian AAX Medium Crash Cymbal Brilliant 20 in. redefines versatility. Crafted from B20 bronze, this cymbal provides a balanced blend of speed, pitch and projection for today's progressive players. The redesigned AAX line pushes sonic boundaries with a larger raw bell and innovative hammering techniques resulting in a cymbal that sings with brighter highs, darker lows and frequencies in between. Now drummers can explore new musical territories with a crash optimized for intricate rhythms and tempo changes.
Raw Bell Delivers Quick Response
The AAX Medium Crash's raw bell provides an immediate, articulate response. Notes speak with clarity as the stick first meets the cymbal, enabling tight, rhythmic passages. This quickness, combined with the cymbal's medium weight, gives drummers a crash able to keep up with rapid-fire drumming one moment and open up to a loud, sustained rumble the next.
Progressive Hammering Technique Creates Complex Tones
Sabian's innovative hammering method produces a more sculpted, multi-dimensional crash sound. The highly-visible hammering is applied in a circular pattern across nearly the entire cymbal surface, manipulating frequencies to achieve brighter highs as well as darker, lower tones. The result is a cymbal with a wide range of overtones, suited for musical styles reliant on atmospheric, expressive cymbal work.
Versatility for Modern Music
The AAX Medium Crash provides sonic versatility for today's progressive music. With its balanced blend of brightness and darkness, pitch and rumble, this crash can accentuate intricate rhythms one moment and open up to a loud wash of sound the next. From math rock to metal, electronica to progressive, the AAX Medium Crash delivers the nuanced, atmospheric crash tones modern music demands.

Love the AAXs

I have been playing hard rock and hard alternative music for years. I am an experienced drummer, but still a heavy hitter. Playing smaller venues, with the added volume of music, also forces me to look for heavier cymbals to get the volume I need. Unfortunately, when I find a durable, loud cymbal, it usually lacks the feel and crisp response of a lighter cymbal. That is definitely not the case with the Medium weight AAXs! They have the feel and musicality of lighter weight models, but with the cut and durability of heavier cymbals. I love these cymbals and wouldn't trust anything else on the stage!
