SABIAN

collapse expand iconDescription

The Sabian B8X 18" Rock Crash cymbal delivers an explosive attack with devastating sonic power. Precision-crafted from B8 bronze, its heavy build and brilliant finish provide the bright, cutting tone needed to slice through a mix. Tailor-made for rock, metal and modern amplified genres, this crash will make you heard.

B8 Bronze Construction for Penetrating Presence

Forged from B8 bronze, a proprietary alloy perfected by Sabian, the B8X Rock Crash has a resonant quality that cuts with clarity. Its material and design translate every stroke into a blast of full-bodied sound with shimmering highs. The cymbal's substantial weight further amplifies its projection, allowing it to soar over the roar of amplified instruments.

Precision Hammering and Lathing for Musicality

While optimized for volume and aggression, the B8X Rock Crash remains highly musical. Sabian's master cymbalsmiths hand-hammer each cymbal to fine-tune its tonal response before precision lathing its surface. This combination of techniques results in a cymbal with a balanced, controlled voice able to complement your playing with harmonic complexity.

Explosive Attack for Accentuating Timekeeping

With its instant attack, the B8X Rock Crash makes an ideal choice for accenting backbeats or signaling transitions. A single crash will cut through the mix with authority, emphasizing the rhythmic pulse. Its full wash of sustain provides musical punctuation, reinforcing the beat. For orchestrating dramatic dynamic shifts or crescendos, look no further than the mighty voice of this 18" crash.

Additional Sizes for the Perfect Fit

The B8X Rock Crash is available in 16", 17" and 19" sizes in addition to 18", allowing you to choose the precise pitch and response you need. With a full complement of crashes, you can craft a setup tailored to your music's exacting needs.

This a great cymbal for beginner and intermediate level drummers. It has a nice dark tone it feels very responsive, and is very explosive. Do not drop it on your toes like I did. Overall 8/10, B8X is a great intermediate level series by Sabian.

This Cymbal looks and sounds okay, but after playing it for a while you realize how cheap it actually is. I got the 18in. at my local Guitar Center. The bell is probably the best part of this cymbal, you can ride on it even though it's a crash. When you crash this cymbal, you hear a very loud boomy sounding crash. This cymbal is really really loud and can overpower your band even at some rock and metal shows if you hit it too much. This cymbal ended up cracking quite quickly. It broke after about 9 months of use (this is the 18in.), which isn't much compared to other cymbals of this price. I would recommend a Paiste Pst3 or Pst5 series cymbal, or A Zildjian zbt series crash. Those are much more durable and also sound much better too for about the same price.

  • I intend on getting the rest of this line!

I had the old B8's in the past and my how they've changed! This cymbal is full of attack, very bright and severe cutting power. I can't wait to outfit my kit with the rest of this line. GO SABIAN!!
