collapse expand iconDescription

A roadworthy set of Seymour Duncan's SL59-1 Little ‘59s take your guitar from gator country to big city back alleys and everywhere in between.

The Little ‘59 neck pickup has a slightly stronger treble emphasis than a traditional P.A.F., with added articulation. It’s a single-coil sized humbucker with a nice, balanced P.A.F.-like response for big, full chords and fat, punchy solos. The 4-conductor lead wire gives you access to parallel and split wiring options for added versatility.

The Little ‘59 bridge model is a single-coil sized humbucker that will inject the sound of a Les Paul directly into your Stratocaster. Its medium output and scooped mids will really add depth to your bridge position. The 4-conductor lead wire gives you access to parallel and split wiring options for added versatility. This pickup is a drop-in for any single-coil pickup route.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the SL59-1 Little ‘59 for Strat pickups come with ceramic magnets, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are wax potted for squeal-free operation. The Little ’59 for Strat pickups coax warm, smooth and defined P.A.F. tone from any Stratocaster.

Put one of these in my PRS Silver Sky bridge position and it complements the other 2 pickups so well people are always telling me how great the guitar sounds. Liked it so much I bought a full size bridge for my Journey travel guitar but to my ears the little 59 just sounds better.

  • Still great after 15 years!!!

This pick up roars. I kid you not, my strat does metal better than my ibanez thanks to it. I don't need to switch guitars, honestly. But nicely driven, not sharp, has that bridge pick up sound with extra bite. Great for cutting through the mix.

Dropped this in my rosewood neck strat to replace the v mod bridge PU. I was looking for a mini humbucker with more bass response because a rosewood neck makes a guitar pretty treble heavy and this little guy did the trick. A little on the quacky side but it sounds great

Ok, so I bought an American standard Strat a couple years ago this March... so it was a 2015 American standard, came with the Custom shop Fat 50's pickups, which sound amazing clean! The neck gives you that strat chine abd bell tones, the 4th and 2nd position had a nice quack to it BUT the moment I would hit a good overdrive or distortion it gave me a very weird wobbley tone like a magnetic pull almost like a vibrato effect in certain frets and it just soubded very metallic and harsh on the rest... I assure you this is not a setup problem it's just that the fat 50's sound great with certain amps and certain gain pedals... I could defintely get away with it with a Big Muf* or A Klon Centaur... if I would put a tube screamer type circuit or a jfet, tube driver that's when my sound became awful... and with my Les Paul everything sounded fantastic, with my 200 dlls ibanez as well... then the real hurt was when my friend brought his brand new MIM Strat... sounded better than my more than double the price American Strat... I was tired of the forums to try and find a fix, my pickups were as low as they could get and the string height as high as possible , I was ready to try different pickups even though some "experts" on the forums said that that wont get rid of the problem... the guy at PitBull Audio recommended the Little 59 for the neck. I got the Duckbucker for the Middle and I already had an SSL-5 for the bridge that sounded great so i left that one alone... I definitely lost some high end sparkle, and the chimey bell like tones on the neck, but oh man. sounds amazing!!! My strat was transformed to a 59 Gibson! On the 4th position since I got a lower output pup gives you the strat quack and you regain top end sparkle. on the 2nd position I get a very nice twangy quack from the duckbucker and the ssl-5. but atill, the little 59 is my favorite! Even if if's a little darker it takes distortion like a champ, very smooth and clean. Put an eq after it to add freqs to taste.

    No, it's for a Strat.
